T03 Power op amp wiring awg?

I need to R&R some wiring in a au20k. original shinagawa. don't see any awg anywhere.
obviously its heavy, but how so? 10,12,14?
anyone who could shine some light, i greatly appreciate it.

Since I gather you are talking about the power cord, 14 AWG should be more than sufficient as 14 is spec'd for 15A branch circuits in standard household wiring. The AU-20000 certainly isn't drawing [more than] 15A, which would be 1800W at 120V.

You could upgrade to heavier cord with no ill effect of course, but anything over 12 AWG is not only unnecessary, it will be tougher to find a two conductor (ungrounded) cord in wire gauges over 14 to begin with. A 12 gauge cord (spec'd for 20A use) will have one horizontal and one vertical blade (- |) on the plug rather than two vertical blades (| |).

What I see in that picture (orange & red) is about as thick as I would go in that situation, not sure about the wire gauge, as I am pretty sure US gauge not the same as UK for example.
 
Hard to say from a picture but that looks to me to be close to 16AWG stranded conductor. That said, the original wiring is probably not actually measured in AWG (American wire gauge) as it would have been sourced from a Japanese supplier. I'd not go any larger than 14 AWG stranded. If you can, turn up a scrap of 14 stranded hookup wire and see if it will fit in the PCB holes. If 14 is too large to fit (once tinned) then use 16 stranded.
