Since I gather you are talking about the power cord, 14 AWG should be more than sufficient as 14 is spec'd for 15A branch circuits in standard household wiring. The AU-20000 certainly isn't drawing [more than] 15A, which would be 1800W at 120V.
You could upgrade to heavier cord with no ill effect of course, but anything over 12 AWG is not only unnecessary, it will be tougher to find a two conductor (ungrounded) cord in wire gauges over 14 to begin with. A 12 gauge cord (spec'd for 20A use) will have one horizontal and one vertical blade (- |) on the plug rather than two vertical blades (| |)
