TEAC 4010s recap list?

There are a lot of slight variations, even within the same service manual, between the sketched boards and the values on the schematic. Looking directly at my boards, lots of them don't match either values, so they likely used what was close at the time of production over the years.
I'm going to use the schematic values and try to come close (slightly over values where I can't find an available direct match).
It has been suggested to me to just do the suzuki bombs and leave the lytics alone for now. I may do just that for my first round of recapping. Once my belts arrive I'll be able to actually test some tape, but until then, I'm waiting to hear how this thing sounds before doing any more trouble shooting. The line in preamp source sounds perfect, so that's a good start!

The 4010s is a battle tank, mine is still singing sweetly even with the Suzuki’s still in place. I really need to get those replaced in mine as well, so will be watching your post for suggestions on replacements for the Suzuki’s and others. Thanks for posting this...

Before you do a recap on your A-4010S you need to have the correct schematic. There were three or four different ones. What is your rig's serial number? Does it use the original RA-40S record amplifier or the later AR-40S?
At the very least, the Suzuki-bombs and large electrolytics should be changed out (especially the former!).

I have done some but have not made a list of the ones I changed as it is timely to replace and then to count them all. One day I will get to it but then there are three different versions and I just simply change one cap at a time and so taking noes as to which one it is has not been done. The recap job done in shops are usually done where they have a good amount of many different caps in hand. The 100uFd 160V cap is one I had to order for these older decks. I do not use axial caps as they really don't want to make them anymore and they price it for you like that. You can put Radial caps in with a little extension or using a wire and shrink tubing. I did it just last night on the Pioneer RT909 50V 2200uFd at power board.
