I just got off the phone with Panasonic. It's pronounced Teck-niks.
Reposted for emphasis.
The word exists in dictionaries and has an official dictionary pronunciation, but that is not the brand name owned by Panasonic. The owner of the brand gets to decide how they pronounce their own name.

So why do they pronounce it wrong in their own ads? I dunno, we probably pronounce it wrong but its easier to go with the flow...
Do you have a shrubbery?
I'm in the "neeks" camp also. Ah yes. At the immortal W.C. Fields remarked: "It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to."
Same here, and so does everyone I know...Huh... I guess I've been pronouncing it wrong (Tech-niks).
the one on google toolbar. my I.T. (daughter) installed it in our firefox browser.
as for matsushta (the way i have heard japanese indivuals say it is like yamashta for yamashita. and now that i have mentioned that name, you should check out kazuhito yamashita the guitarist doing pictures at an exhibition and new world symphony.

the vinyl is a good sounding digital recording. the CDs are rather hard to find as well as the LPs.

i'm gonna go with tec-nicks on this thread (since i went with tec-neeks on the other one).

In Japanese, it's spelled チクニクス, which is pronounced "chay-ku-nee-koo-su" (ie: "techniques").
So, anyone swayed to change the way they pronounce it yet (one way or the other)?
I didn't think so.
Me neither.
