Technics relaunch

I hope these are not the real products,
who needs that much power in a home amplifier these days?
that tiny screen on the network player seems a joke, and its clear that the floorstanders sound like crap, :thumbsdn:

How's that clear?

How on earth could you know what they sound like?

Sound like crap? Did you audition a pair? In the middle of an expo hall, in a hotel room not set up properly or a room dedicated to a system and tuned? Maybe you could provide a complete evaluation for us, I would be interested.

Matsushita/National/Technics/Panasonic has dabbled in the high end in the past (perhaps not much in the US market, though -- they sold us what we wanted back in the days of the Ford Pinto and Pontiac Parisienne).

Don't know - they could be developed in house as the surrounds are definitely unique on the. You don't know the price - just because they are not un the 'used' category price doesn't mean anything.

As far as sound, the new Sony's are decent and they are 2.5K- 24K USD in price. People ARE buying those....

We shall see what they sound like - I can't wait to hear a pair...

Whoever said, 'they sound like crap' in this thread obviously never heard them. Must like the big bloaty advents.....

Yes we need to wait anything posted here is all speculation at this point.....

It's funny, most times when folks post this type of dribble I simply shake my head and move on, however............ your input here is baseless, thoughtless and downright stupid!! Please, think before you post.:thmbsp:

There are too many woofers in those speakers, so pretty difficult to implement,
and considering Technics has never made any high end speakers,
I doubt they will sound better than concurrence,
but, anyway I was just kidding before, they can also be the best sounding speaker ever made..:music:

With a price tag of 40,000 Euro for the Technics SE-R1 stereo power amplifier.

This article indicates that the 40K price is for the whole reference system. Given that the prices for the Premium system list it with and without the CD player, I would say their price info is most likely accurate.

Saw some pricing info. A system of amp, speakers and network player in the lower tier line, will run about 4k euros. Seems about right for the market.

Things are usually a little cheaper here than in Europe. That might not be too bad when it hits the North American market.
