Tesla Truck revealed and it may be a joke.

I think Elon Musk walks on water - a guy that takes huge risks to innovate and be different. These kind of guys are super rare today.

Great thinkers/innovators?? You have never said a truer statement on these boards, and you've said countless truths over the years. Agreed, wholeheartedly, Snade.

Elon Musk is a maverick.

Love the guy and his worldview, and I shook in my boots when he was asked "When will it be too late to stop AI ??" and he replied, without hesitation, "It's already too late."

An odd-looking truck, but no doubt styled to set itself apart from conventional trucks. And I suspect the styling will morph into something more rational as production begins (like getting rid of the weird roof peak)

That being said.....go Elon! Go Tesla !

I'm glad someone finally broke the barrier and that viable electric vehicles are on the rise!

Isn't he the one putting a huge grid of satellites in orbit so we will never have a clear view of the night sky again, but we will have good internet ?

The Cybertruck looks soo awesome. Coolest truck ever

But if you tow something with it i don’t think you get a lot of range with it. In this video they towed a horse trailer with a Model X and they didn't get far.

towing 2000 pounds on flat roads a little over 100 miles range, probably 60 around here with all the hills.

I have driven my Grand marquis up worse hills than that with less problems; actually no problems. Oh well

This is why we need battery stations. Instead of charging batteries, you create a battery that can be be easily pulled out and replaced at the charging station. I came up with this idea 20 years ago and I have yet to see anyone else talking about it. Seems like the obvious fix. But, of course the batteries will need to be synced up and everyone is racing to create a better battery!!! Free market solutions right?

Chevys E-10 truck.

The E-10’s Connect & Cruise concept propulsion system is composed of a double stack of Chevrolet Performance concept electric crate motors (eCrate), two 400-volt batteries and a conventional SuperMatic™ 4L75-E automatic transmission. The double stack eCrate motor replaces the truck’s original gas engine under the hood and is connected to the automatic transmission, which transfers torque to the rear axle. Power to the drive stack comes from the pair of independent Chevrolet Bolt EV power electronics and two production Bolt EV battery packs. Mounted in the truck’s bed, each offers 60 kWh of usable energy under a hard tonneau cover.

That thing looks stupid. Seriously. It looks like they just decided to ignore aerodynamics and go with retro looks. No thanks.

From WHO? That not Chevy's car, its simply a Concept vehicle - no basis in reality,
other than ChipFoose or one of those kinda guys ...

And about that eCrate motor - kinda pricey last time I looked into it -

When you say "you replace the battery pack," exactly who are we talking about?
Your wife? Your daughter? Your teenage son?
Your venerable father in his mid 70s or 80s?
Nah, thats not really a handy technology that way.
Thats why no one is headed that direction.

Well, I really loved my 68 Charger, about 9 mpg of the good stuff which you can't even buy today, I had a V-10 RAM, a Cummings RAM, and now I drive a Chevy Volt.
The Volt averages over 80 mpg and some of the Chevy dealers allow me to use their fast charger for free, so I think anyone buying a new fossil fueled truck or SUV must be crazy.
Every once in a while my fill up cost over $20, which does bother me.

I guess not many of you care about Global Warming, but I can see drastic changes in the forest, it's not looking good guys.

Everyone you mentioned handle flammable liquid every day .

Flammable liquids, yes, even a charger plug, no sweat.
But a heavy, high-current battery pack is not going to be a light lift.
