The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good Morning,

Weather: It's a bit overcast today, going up to 72 degrees, followed by rain all weekend....so they say.
Think I'll put off mowing until Monday.

I had a mess on my hands yesterday.
Wednesday night I smelled something weird in the kitchen as I was heading off to bed...kinda like Fritos. Woke up and we realized the watermelon we bought 'on sale' Saturday had rotted, and I'd made the mistake of placing it on the kitchen rug ( 9 x 12 ). Very gross.
I tried scrubbing both sides of the rug with lots of soap and water and blotted as best I could, then sucked up the filth with the Shop Vac.
All to no avail, still smelled like death.
We rolled the rug up, put in the garage, I'll take it to the dump.
I'll also throw away the rags and towels I used.
The shop vac parts have been soaking in soapy water all night...fingers crossed.

Looks like we'll be buying a new rug tomorrow !

Other than that, all is good here.
Corned beef for dinner.

Have a great day,
Cheers

Good morning! Sunny and mid 80s F for the walk, going to 103, small rain vhasnces this afternoon. Heat warning has been extended through tomorrow.
Yesterday, scatterred showers stayed to south and southeast.

Sage bushes are blooming again; my bougainvillea has lost all its blossoms, hope it recovers soon.
Neighbor had three tall sage bushes on the edge of the front yard that provided some privacy for my front window. He has cut them down to about 18 inches root stock and and expects them to grow from that to a more manageable size. It was surprising to look out and see the house diagonally across the street from me.

Today: computer backup (running now), vacuuming upstairs, and grocery pickup. I've switched pickup time from 2 pm to 1 pm, avoids going by the school when parents' car are starting to line up for pickup and crossing guards may already be putting out 15 mph signs.

Have a great day!

Good morning. It’s 66°F going to 91. I’m heading out in a bit for my Saturday morning run. Really don’t feel like it but will do 6 miles of so.

The Blue Angels are in town for this weekend’s air show. I live in the valley, right below the rimrocks, and the airport is up on top above me. They practiced for a hour or two yesterday and zoomed right over my house a few times. I was out in the street with the neighborhood kids watching and enjoying.

We are replacing the outdoor carpeting on the other house. One on the front porch and the other a side porch, or mini-patio. Tearing out the old was a major ordeal. That old adhesive was resistant. I did some concrete patching in and around the area and will lay the new carpet today.

Morning!:bye:

Just had a
touch of
rain here.
We've needed it,
while other areas
are deluged with
down pours!

"Batching" it now,
just me and a dog
named Boo...make
that Ian...he's a
Sheltie Scot.
Wife's Scottish as well.
BOTH are stubborn
as all get out, eh?

Upped the speed limit
on the maj HWY's.
More fatalities!

On the bright side,
We've had a fair bit
of Sun. Nice!

"Fall" is at the door...
wanting in. And you
know who's to follow!

"Almanac" says that
we, in the East will have
a rough ride this Winter,
with the West, getting
off the Hook easy...
this time around.

Got a new record shop
in town. Will have to
check him out.

Outdoor stuff,
all done now, but
there's a
"Changing of
the Guard"
about
to happen.
Can feel it
in the air!

Hope all are
in and about
these days, with
good health
in mind.

May the day
go as expected,
and without
any serious
surprizes.

Good Morning Folks. It is 62f on the deck, sunny with a high in the mid 80's. Yesterday was very busy and by the late afternoon heat and humidity got to me. Today's plan is to stay indoors, do a light few chores and stay cool and dry. This afternoon the Wife and I are meeting friends at the Pub.
Take Care.
Allan

P.S. Belated Happy Birthday Bill.

Mornin’ Friends,

Yesterday I finished repairing my Weber so itching to grill tonight. Surf and turf al fresco is likely. Going to staycation this weekend after a run to the store for essentials. Bolsa Chica State Beach was excellent yesterday. Hung out with the 16.5r’s yesterday morning. Nothing like 74f water to bring out the local women surfers without their wetsuits. Thongs are surprisingly wardrobe malfunction resistant. Have a great day,
John

Good morning! Sunny and low-mid 80s F for the walk, going to 105. Heat warning has been extended, very small rain chances.

Today: worl'd fair/thene park zoom this morning. Big camera club is having a private visit to Tucson Auto Museum this afternon 4-6, followed by dinner at El Charro for those interested. The museum takes down the chains, allowing clear shots of the cars. I missed the previous visit last year when I caught COVID.

Have a great day!

TMI: IBS acting up this morning, hopefully it calms down for the rest of the day.

Good morning, y'all! We have 95 and sunshine here today. We just have some usual routine chores this morning, and the grandson's basketball game this afternoon. After breakfast I'm doing my knee exercises in prep to go walking tomorrow. There's not much else going on. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good morning all, 69°F/~20°C, overcast, slight breeze, feels humid. Supposed to have had rain yesterday afternoon and evening, also today, nothing showing on radar...looks like rain coming.

Yesterday was a busy day, never did get to guitar practice! Nice quiet coffee on porch with another retired Deputy Chief, then daughter arrives, then another daughter and SIL, then...LOL, didn't clear out about quarter to nine! Very close to 'geezers' bedtimes :D

Today seems quiet, we'll see how it goes, need some quiet time to get into Chet Atkins record son gifted me last night...

And thanks for all the b-day wishes .

Keep safe everybody.

Good morning dear friends!

67° F and cloudy, high 76. It's supposed to be raining right now, but it's not.

Yesterday, I ended up going to a friend's house and helped him clean out his basement. He's having electrical work done and needed to make a path to the breaker box.

Today, I'm going back to his house to do some demolition in the basement. There is a room that the former owner added that needs to come out.

God bless you all!

Mornin' all, 64°F/~18°C, overcast with light rain. All quiet, just sound of rain on front porch roof and occasional cars passing on wet road...

Think we are food shopping today, at least for cat food, down to one can, but think Tux is up to doing his dry food at night now without trouble...

And cleaning, yes cleaning. Having a small acoustic jam here Wenesday morn, have a couple days to get ready.

Keep safe everybody ;)

Good Morning Folks. It is 62f on the deck and today's high will be in the low 80's. Today the Wife and I are going to our Son home and watch the Grand Kids for a few days. My Son and DIL are taking a few days for themselves. It should be an interesting few days.
Have a wonderful Sunday and take care.
Allan

Good morning, y'all! Slept in today, felt good. It'll be 97 with sunshine here. No plans, I'm taking the day off. I'm going walking after breakfast, then I'll listen to some records I just cleaned. Yesterday I sanded the finish off the seat of the first of 2 oak dining chairs the older grandchildren had when they were kids. I glued the wobbly back spindles in with Titebond II, that worked great, it's solid as a rock now. Have an awesome day, everyone!
