The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Good Morning,

Another beautiful day here.
Lawn got mowed yesterday, one of the more comfortable mows weather-wise.

John the Bassist coming over in a few hours for lunch, Split Pea Soup.
Maybe play some music after we eat.

Chicken thighs for dinner.

Mother in Law had a few trees fall Sunday afternoon. Landed right on top of the shed and into the vegetable garden.
I contacted the guy that took down a bunch of my trees with a mini excavator, need him to clean up the trees and dispose of what's left of the shed. He can do it in 2 or 3 weeks. Perfect !
That gives me some time to clear out the junk that's still in the shed.

Can't think of much else to report. Leaving now for the post office and the dump.

Have a good day,
Cheers

Good morning y'all! We have 95 and mostly cloudy here today. I got about 1/3 of the weeding done yesterday, but I started late and it got hot out there pretty quickly. I should be able to finish that up today. Nothing else needs immediate attention around here, so I'm looking forward to a lazy afternoon. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good Morning Folks. It is 67f on the porch and the high will reach the mid 80f. Today will be a repeat of yesterday, morning lite chores around the house and in the afternoon the Grand Kids. I've been wearing a brace on my left knee the last few days and this morning it's feeling normal. I won't push the knee and stay seated when possible.
Take care.
Allan.

Godd morning! Sunny and upper 80s F for the walk. Past few days we had a small American Snout Butterfly "migration" going on, hardly any today. Internet says it's not a real migration, just locally going from a depleted food area to a better regional area. Greatest populations are said to be in southern Texas, much thicker than here. Here's one from last year, when there were a lot more:

Today is pretty freeform, big camera club has monthly Wildlife SIG zoom tonight, should have some interesting pics displayed.

Have a great day!

Here in the wilds of Wyoming we're expecting a high of about 85f. Had a thunderstorm roll thru yesterday evening which made my auto immune disease go wild. I was bouncing off the cabinet on my way to the shower , were I almost fell. Was going to see my troubled lady but I was in no condition to drive so I stay home and she was none to happy. Oh well, I values other's lives too much to get behind wheel in that condition. She was out of booze and cigarettes, hope she made out ok.

Today should be a grocery day but I'm wiped out from the beating I took last night from the storm. If you know anyone with this disease, undifferentiated connective tissue disease, cut them some slack and help them if you can. There is no cure for this disease and multiple symptoms makes it difficult to understand. You can only symptoms , and the wisdom of the decision makers in this country have decided we should die as they have made it difficult, if not impossible to get they only medication known to he people like me.

I'm beating a dead horse again, so I'll just with this, may your loved one's be safe and know that you love them each and every day. If you no one like me, help others have a better day. It's the least we can do to show our appreciation for this gift of life.

Good afternoon,
This morning’s bilateral epidurals went well. In at 9:00 out at 10:00, rest until 2:00 and stay out of the pool for 24 hours. My daughter and her boyfriend are bringing Charro Chicken for dinner. It’s the best pollo that’s not the red chicken parted out on that same tree stump in TJ since forever. Back to doing nearly nada from doing nada. Been listening to classical in the living room. May try some Basie on the La Scalas if it’s not too hot in the garage. Have a great day.

Good morning dear friends!

63° F and sunny, high 78.

Yesterday was a wonderful day and I really needed that after Monday. There was some rather upsetting news late in the day. My ex-gf told me that a lady we both know fell of the wagon (had a relapse in modern speak). Sounds pretty bad. Praying for her.

At the hostess's house right now sitting outside enjoying the cool air.

God bless you all!

Good morning. It’s 63°F going to the low-90s. I’m heading to the gym for weights and a swim today.

Then it’s the hardware store for a bit of metal screen to replace some on the chimney of the other house. OK, it needs to be replaced but the idiot home inspector said that it was to keep sparks from causing a fire. The fireplace has a gas insert so no sparks possible but whatever. The idiot also said the the insert was inoperable. It works fine if you know how to light a pilot. There is a long list of items that the indiot included on his inspection report that scared away a potential buyer, items there were NOT problems. For example, he said a toilet was loose to the floor. We had to have a plumber into inspect it and the plumber couldn’t find a problem. We had an HVAC guy verify that the fireplace insert was fine. We had an electrician in to write up the the “inoperable outlets” were that way because they are constrolled by a switch on the wall. The list goes on and gets worse but….. Sigh……

Anyway, that’s small stuff as my city has hit the national new with a tragedy that occurred here on Sunday where a family of 8 was murdered and had their house burned down by a relative who then killed himself. 4 kids were among the victims. 2 of the kids are the grandkids of a goood acquaintance of mine. This occurred just a few miles west of me and I could see the smoke. Very, very sad.

Sorry for your loss Vincent.

Good morning folks. 66 F and sunny, going to 78 F.
Just got through watering the fresh sod, takes about 1/2 hour.
G-daughter is here, trying to visit as much as possible before school starts in less than two weeks.
I'll probably cut the grass later this afternoon.
Trust you all will have a fine day wherever you live.

Good morning! Sunny and upper 80s F for the walk with some high clouds, another scorcher, going to 109. Yesterday matched a record at 107. They're promising rain Sat and Sun with temps dropping into the 90s. AZ governor has ordered flags at half staff to honor Dolly Parton.

Yesterday I finished the first pass culling photos from the auto museum and doing some editing. Now I'll start a closer look at the remaining ones.

Today: quarterly pest control; flu, RSV, and pneumonia shots, going to wait for the updated COVID. I can't remember my last pneumonia shot, primary doc's records say 2018, 5 year interval recommended at my age. My philosophy is follow the money - if insurance companies are willing to pay for it, it's because it has positive effects for their bottom line by having positive effects for you.

Have a great day!

Good morning. It’s 66°F going to 98, a warm one.

Today is a busy one. I am making some bread that I will turn into bread sticks that I will turn into round snack things. I’ll take them to a friend’s house for our Thursday shoot pool get together this afternoon. But this morning I am headed to the county commisioners meeting. I went to their general meeting on Tuesday and spoke again during the public session regarding funding for our local museums. Today I just want to listen as an opponents to a proposed data center are on the agenda.

I am empathetic to those who are opposed to having this 5,000 acre data center built in their small town about 20 miles from here. However, the project is being backed by our governor, state reps, and others right down to the commisioners. They are all from the same political party and this small town votes overwhelmingly for that party in every election so, in a way, they are getting what they voted for. Opponents tired to get enough signatures on a petition to stop the project but failed to get enough so now they are asking the commisioners to make an emergency zoning thing to stop the project.

Like I said, I am empathetic to the issue but also understand that I am using online data with regularity, including AI, and am primarily going to the meeting because I am interested and I’ve been a regular at these meeting over the museum issue for the past 8 months. Getting involved in local issues like this wasn’t in my retirement plan but it’s been really interesting along the way and I have met lots of great people.
