The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Hope you are well and in good spirits as I am, here in the wilds of Wyoming. I've decided I cannot deny the lady who loves from cohabitating in the near future. this has been arranged by force not of this earth, as my dream put us together. She doesn't like to drive so I will pick her up tomorrow and take her to the house so we can figure out what to keep and how to arrange things. My house is packed, so it will be a eye opener to her. I have lots of cleaning to do today, hopefully I'm up to the challenge

Though I got bit by something while napping on the coach downstairs. Saw my nurse practitioner yesterday, she one look , and said it's shingles, and showed me several pictures that collaborated her diagnosis. I was surprised for a moment but then remember my mother had shingles. I haven't had tremendous pain and I'm guessing my daily use of cannabis along with a history of pain has me barely noticing it, however, this condition effects your entire body. Already got the sweats. If diagnosed and treated in the first three days, it can be put down. For me it was 5 or 6 days till I saw her and these flairs last for 3-5 weeks. No biggie, I've been dealing with health challenges for a long time. My lady says she'll take care of me, which is more than I can say about my ex wife treatment of me when illness struck. I'm happy to have her in my life, thank the lord for that!

Temps here dropping to the low to mid 80's for some 3-5 day the expected to hit the 70's . You usually get about two weeks to do a months worth of maintenance. The season usually change quick here, but global warming , who knows.

The weekend is almost here , still red warning every day so hopefully people continue to be aware that tossing cigarette butts out the car window or using fireworks is a bad idea. The fireworks are illegal the county I live in but legal in neighboring counties, so they are often used for celebrating holidays or personal holidays. The police I'm sure are busy keeping our city under control so people who use these items have to restrain themselves under current conditions. Many who grew with fireworks seem addicted to them, they were legal here when I arrived in 1978 so they see m to feel entitled. Me, I got over fireworks pretty young, but they were recommended to have when camping to keep bears from killing you. I never took m80's camping and never had a run in with bears thankfully in the high country.

Not awake but feeling chatty, sorry for the long post, hope you all have a wonderful day and the opportunity to pay it forward. with love, john

Good morning! Sunny and upper 80s F for the late walk, going to 99 with a small chance of rain all day.

Yesterday evening a couple in a car were swept away by a flash flood near Benson after dark. They called 911 and then their connection went dead. Fortunately rescuers found and saved them. These cases always make me wonder if they couldn't see the flowing water, or could and foolishly drove into it. The weather guessers on TV are continually chanting "Turn around, don't drown."

Today: ordering groceries for pickup tomorrow; that's about it.

Have a great day!

Good morning all! Yesterday our nephew called and mentioned that they would be in the area. He asked if we would like to get together for dinner. Of course we said yes. They came over to the house and we chatted for a few minutes, then drove over to the Mexican restaurant in town.

This morning we're heading down to Momma's favorite quilt shop to pick up/drop off some items. Then we're going further south to a fabric store that is going out of business. Momma wants to drop off to charity some stuff she made years ago.

Take care and have a great day!

Good morning, y'all! We have 90 and sunshine here today. I had an awesome 80th birthday yesterday, kinda quiet, scored a very nice bottle of Textbook Cabernet Sauvignon wine, a cool sci-fi book and a set of Elixir strings for the acoustic guitar. All my siblings, sons, DIL's and grandkids, various nieces, nephews and friends texted or called to wish me a happy day. To top it off, the 49ers played very well and beat the Rams. I have no actual plans for today, but I have decided to strip the chairs before sanding any more just to save some tedious labor. Sweetie Pie has art class from 10-2, so I'll have to go to the store for stripper and get back before she has to leave since we share the car. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Hope you are all fine this 9-11-26. You don't have to be from NYC to have an awful memory ot this day in history. I'm sure, like me, many of you still retain the horrifying memory of watching those plans crash into the two towers. Mya those kill and those who gave their live to rescue the victim rest in peace.

Have a great weekend. john

Good morning dear friends!

70° F and mostly cloudy, high 74.

Almost didn't get here today....

Yesterday we found or at least we think we found a meeting place for the recovery group. Much to my surprise, I have a lot of local pull for having only been in the area for 7 years.

After working the location, we had a 9/11 memorial and it got very emotional. We all talked about where we were and what we were doing when we got slammed with the news. A quarter of a century has passed and it's still difficult to talk about.

This morning, my friend and I were helping a young man in crisis. He needed to get into detox and we helped him get a ride to the facility. He had a harrowing experience last night and lost his phone in the process. It's a good thing I'm a tough old man because I haven't been squeezed that hard in long time.

Things have finally calmed down, so now just resting and resetting.

God bless you all!

Good morning! Sunny and upper 80s F for the late walk, going to 96, chances of rain in late afternoon.
Today: normal Friday computer backup and grocery pickup.

Have a great day!

9/11 still feels surreal after 25 years. I was playing music in the car on the way to work and didn't hear the news until I got there. Later in the day, management gathered everyone in the cafeteria and we sang "God bless America."
RIP to those killed, and thanks once again to first responders.

TMI: Aching lower back, hips, thighs, knees not getting better. I got an appointment with my primary doc for the 21st. I avoid painkillers as much as possible because of the state of my kidneys, but I may take something today.

Good Morning Folks. It is currently 50f on the porch and today's high may reach into the low 80's. Arrived home late yesterday from to overnighter to trip to SoCal. Seeing my Sister made me hopeful for her recovery from the cancer. She has a great attitude and is not giving up. Seeing how she is doing now, even made me feel better. I'm told they may remove the tumor, so another trip may happen soon.
Today plan is to hard wiring the battery tender of the backup generator. The tender is powered with extension cord which looks cheesy laying on the ground.
Have a wonderful Friday my friends and take care.

Good morning, y'all! It'll be 87 and sunny here all day. Not much going on. Grandson's basketball schedule has changed to Sunday, so that'll take priority over pro football on TV. I'm not yet sure if he has a game tomorrow. I'll try to get the dining chairs stripped today and exercise my knee. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Mornin’ Friends,
I slept as comfortably last night as I have since our summer heat really kicked in 10 days ago. The bedroom ceiling fan has been running very slow. The fan guy has been slammed, but our turn finally came up yesterday. Just the run capacitor, $120 installed, but totally worth it.
More “modern problems” - our new Narwhal robot vac/mop got out and took a swim. Nobody is trouble, Tricia ran it with the slider open. I checked “no stairs” in setup because we don’t use it upstairs. Unlike 4 Roombas (Roombii) preceding it, the cliff sensors cannot be defeated. I escalated my claim of stupid software 2 levels, but they won’t cover my error. Narwhal is not to be confused with Nordstrom or even Schiit for that matter. So today I have to build a box just for the robot and send it in. Challenge accepted. Have a great day,
John

Good Morning Folks. It is 55f on the porch and todays high may reach 80f. Yesterday hard wiring of the BU generator didn't happen because my electrical tester in South Dakota. So, this morning I'm driving into town and visit the Hardware Store. While in town I'll stop by the grocery store for a few items. The plan for the afternoon is porch sitting if the wind cooperates.
Have a wonderful Saturday and take care.

What you don’t pack your Wiggy when you travel? I thought everyone did. I don’t leave home without it.

Good morning! Sunny and mid 80s F for the walk with high clouds, going to 92, 33% chance of rain mid-afternoon. Rain yesterday stayed to the south.

Today: World's Fair Zoom with pics from 1982 Knoxville.

Have a great day!

TMI: Took one regular strength Tylenol for the low back pain, which seemed to do nothing. Got an appointment with primary doc for the 21st. Then the pain decided to lessen through the late afternoon and evening and is practically gone this morning.  The older I get, the more tricks my body has up it's sleeve. Now waiting to see if it comes back or stays away.

Good morning. It’s 56°F in Sequim, WA. I just came in a from a 5 mile run and feel pretty good. I spent the last two days on my motorcycle Canadian excursion and that was SO MUCH fun. I took the ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria, BC, camped in Bamberton Provincial Park, and rode the Pacific Marine Road to Port Renfrew. Then down the coast along the Salish Sea back to Victoria. I rode around there a bit before back to the ferry terminal. The ferry rides a re great. I do have to tie my motorcycle down to keep it stable in case the ship rolls a bit. Here a photo from the Pacific Marine Road.

Good morning all! Yesterday's cookout went well. He usually hosts a big event but in recent years the crowd has been a bit smaller. Of course a late afternoon rain shower didn't help much.

Today we're hosting football. My BIL and a few nephews will be coming over. I call it a beer and peanuts event, nothing fancy.

Take care and have a great day!
