The Good Morning (Your First Logon for the Day) Thread

Just about under the wire ;) , good morning to all. 61°F/16°C, mostly overcast but broken patches in the cloud cover where BLUE shows through! Rain stopped last night, mostly, rain gauge indicates 3" (7.62 cm...hmm, that number sounds familiar )
over the three days, so that's not bad, for us!

Somewhere, there is a chart that says x amount of rain = x amount of snow. Not sure I wanna know...

Hey, sun has poked through the clouds :D

Made appointment this morning for my flu shot (COVID shot done) and appointment to have big snow blower picked up and serviced...not sure how far back in service queue I am...wasn't able to siphon gas out of her last Spring, so just have to go for the whole enchilada. At least no waste oil to deal with.

Wife has gotten all her outside plants in, and is now oiling cutting boards...hmm, should I pass along a few guitars for fretboard and bridges? :p

Keep yourselves safe everyone!

Postscript: Wife just walked out front door with my father-in-law's old framing hammer. Rhu-ro!

Mornin’ Friends,
Checking in from Kean’s coffee this morning. My favorite coffee for 30 years. Going to spend time with Tricia today. Whatever we do it will be out of the house, maybe a movie or to my nephew’s bar and grill in San Clemente. Taco Tuesday tonight for dinner. Thinking about picking up a pound of Carnitas on my way home.
TMI: I should hear about my second opinion appeal today. They said they needed another 24 hours because it went up the chain. They didn’t say no. ;)

Definitely don’t waste her elbow grease. According to a recent US Forest Products study oiling cutting boards is inferior to the natural tendency of the wood to pull bacteria below the surface and kill it. The expansion and contraction of the fibers with moisture and drying does the trick. Scrape, wipe or rinse and dry has been working well here for a year now. My board even eats its own beet stains. Full disclosure - I’m still using a plastic board for raw meat, old habits..

Good morning! Wet with breaking clouds and lower 70s F for the walk, going only to low 80s. Radar shows northbound showers in bands of rain that are drifting west to east, so we will probably get wet again. Hope it's OK for the drive to the sleep center in Tucson this afternoon. Picking up the overnight oxygen monitor for home test without CPAP.
Logging in late as I just spent some time trying to restore the Intel Killer Network Manager. I removed it because I thought it might be causing some problems, but that wasn't it.
Now I see the startup launcher, which I can't find to remove, and I have not been able to reinstall the app either.

Have a great day!

TMI: IBS acting up a bit, what else is new?

Good...afternoon all! Just got in from cleaning up the garage. This morning I was making crude candle sconces for Halloween. Had a little production line going and was able to cut, assemble and mount a holder to eight of them.

The next few weeks will be decorating the house for our annual party.

Take care and have a great day!

Good morning. It’s 53°F going to 79. Another gorgeous day. I’m running to the gym for some weights and a swim. Then have to be back by 8am to be for the guy who is blowing out our underground sprinklers here and at the other house. For those who don’t know why we are doing that consider yourselves fortunate. ;-)

Yesterday I did a 255 mile motorcycle ride with a friend over the Beartooth Pass and the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway in Wyoming. It was great.

Unrelated but I just received my determination letter from the Veterans Administration yesterday. I’ve been rated 10% disabled due to the severe tinnitus I have had since a bunch of “acoustic traumas” I experienced back in the early 1970s. Yes it took a while to become eligible.

Mornin’ Friends,
Today we have partly cloudy skies with a high of 78*. Yesterday we walked the Seal Beach pier, saw The Heart of the Beast in XD, loved it and had dinner nachos at a favorite restaurant. An excellent day. Today we’re doing a Costco run and Tricia has a doctors appointment. Have a great day.

Good morning, y'all! We have 92 and sunshine here today. I'll be calling a lady at 9 AM about rebinding an old cookbook. Apparently, no one in the Sacramento area does this anymore, except her. I'd have to go to Berkeley or San Francisco (both are about 2 hours away from here) to find a business that handles this kind of job. I hope she can help me. No other plans yet for today, except dinner tonight at Sweetie Pie's art teacher's house. Have an awesome day, everyone!

Good morning. I am awake extra early, about 4:30 and just gave up trying to get back to sleep. It’s 50°F and only going to 66 with rain in the forcast. I told my wife I’d do the mowing today and hope I can get it done before things get wet. If not, it XC wait another day. I spent a good piece of yesterday with her as we painted a couple rooms at the other house.

Today I have a few other chores to take care of before going to a friend’s house to shoot some pool. The three of us who meet up there weekly have all been traveling so it’s been a while.

Yesterday was the last day where our record store was selling LPs out of the bargain bins for $1 each. The bins are in the bottom of the regular racks so I sat cross-legged for a few hours over three days to go through them all. Luckily I am in good enough shape to do that as I scored 40 LPs. The quality is a great, all are VG+ or near mint. A few looked like they had never been played.

Good morning all! Yesterday we un-decorated above the kitchen cabinets (everyday household tchotchkes) in preparation for putting up Halloween decorations. Later in the afternoon we headed north for our monthly appointment, and grabbed dinner on the way home.

Today we'll continue putting up Halloween stuff.

Take care and have a great day!

Mornin,' 65°F/18°C, overcast and muggy.

Like the brothers in MT and CT, I too tackled the lawn...well, the better half of it anyway. And, it started sprinkling when I started, but I logged on and it stopped, though weather app says more soon. From our last 3-inches-in-3-days, we've 20 some odd mushrooms popping up. Thank goodness past edge of mowing area. Had 4 big ones just like little cartoon above, but they didn't last long...

Wife at dentist this morning, just a cleaning, hope a she-bear does not return.

OK, GOTTA take a shower, stay safe all.

Good Morning Folks. It is 56f on the deck, cloudy and today's high may reach the mid 60's. Lots of little chores ahead this morning with a focus on the bare floors and laundry. This afternoon I'm going to a local Butcher that make Brats without corn syrup . All the store bought Brats I see are made with corn syrup which is not compatible with my IBS.
Have a great Thursday everyone and take care.
Allan

Mornin Friends,
We have a high of 82f followed by 5 days of low to mid 90’s. They’ll be frying at the

The fast movers pass directly overhead from the comfort of the yard so we watch from the pool for free. I’ll probably do either coffee night or lunch with the guys and take it easy and enjoy the relative quiet today after a few todo’s get tadone. Have a great day.
John

Good morning! Clear and upper 60s F for the walk, going to 86. The rain in the past few days brought cooler air.

Sage bushes and red fairy dusters are blooming. Mexican bird of paradise is from half to completely gone to seed. The topiaried tree and lantanas are growing wild. Landscaper visits have been less frequent and last time with only him since he lost some crew to an ICE raid. I did some minimum Halloween decoration of the old TV and tried out the Halloween image on the screen - ready for its portrait when I get around to it.

Today: misc housework, ordering groceries for pickup tomorrow.

Have a great day!

TMI:
I have an appointment on Monday to go over the sleep test results. CPAP machine has flagged a mask leak with the new mask, but it's fine when I run the test. Last night I discovered that the new mask can leak from the bottom edge, which doesn't wake me like the cheek leaks of the old one. Dry mouth from IBS med is still a problem, haven't figured out what I can do about it. I have the CPAP humidity turned up, but it can't replace the saliva. It's less of a problem without the CPAP, because I can wake briefly to take a sip of water when I'm not wearing the mask.
