The Great Alvin Lee Dies

IMHO "A Space in Time" is one of the greatest rock albums ever made. He will be surely missed.
Kindest Regards, Sam

The most iconic guitarist to die since Hendrix with the exception of Garcia.

RIP Alvin. You left us with a lot of memories. One of my all time favorite guitar players. And I even had a chance to see him live touring "In Flight" in 1974.

I just read online that he was due to play a concert at Olympia Hall in Paris on 7 April with blues guitarist Johnny Winter.

Very Sad news, TYA was an early favorite and I was fortunate enough to have seen them in about 73. RIP Mr. Lee.

Saw him at Great Woods in 1985 and he was amazing. I dirty danced with my girlfriend the whole show :)

Cranking A Space In Time LP right now, will be cranking my MFSL SSSSH/Cricklewood in the car this week.

RIP Alvin

G'day all, man this news is such a drag! All the great ones are leaving us, it seems. RIP Alvin Lee. Regards, Felix aka catman.

RIP Alvin Lee. Spin up some Ten Years After, y'all.:tears:

Already am.... "Cricklewood Green". Easily one of the best-sounding original '60's pressings I own (Mine's got "SF" next to the right of the Bell Sound logo). Looks like somebody did a few hundred burnouts over top of the thing, and yet it sounds almost-completely-quiet. Just a light pop every once in a while, but that's it (I actually need to clean it... Should get rid of at least half of them).

Alvin was one of my biggest early guitar-influences back when I was in my teens. Taught me a lot, actually. I had "A Space In Time", "Cricklewood Green", and the "Woodstock" soundtrack on vinyl before I was even 15 years old. I even bought a hollowbody because of Alvin Lee's playing (My 2nd guitar... Cheap 335 copy... I wanted to slap a peace-sign sticker on the thing like he did).

RIP, Sir Alvin...

No rich no more"

Lyrics to live by.
So sad. I will be exploring more of their music.

'85 Great Woods Blues Festival, I assume? They always did an awesome job with that show.
