I liked his speed and the fact he got tired of being a "traveling jukebox",love to find one of his early albums with the Jaybirds.RIP Does anyone know his given name as AL was his stage name?

“I hated it because it was a hit,” he said in 2003. “By then I was rebelling, and I never played it live. To me it was a pop song.”

Bummer. A Space in Time has always been one of my favorite albums. Plenty of guests have been amazed when I played it. Got Cricklewood Green playing right now. RIP.

Alvin Lee was a BAD MAN on a guitar, as he could shred one big time. I know i miss him already as there will never be another Alvin Lee.RIP- As this one hurts, no doubt.

Just heard Alvin passed away last week and confirmed news on CNN.

Read about this @ Huff Post (of all places!) this morning. Death following routine surgical procedure in Spain. Two thoughts. First, medical care in Spain is much better in France. Second, Alvin Lee was one of the big ones, and his death in this manner is tragic. ****ing infuriating, even.

I saw TYA 4 or 5 times (a little fuzzy on the number ) - always as the headliner. Alvin and TYA were my number one favorite in high school (grad '73) and beyond.

Cricklewood Green vinyl was extra thick and I remember reading in liner how he and Leo were so psych'd to be recording in such a great studio.

Love Like A Man, 50,000 Miles Beneath My Brain, As The Sun Still Burns Away... Then A Space In Time or was Watt in between :scratch2: ASIT is one of those rare albums that can be listened front to back over and over :yes:

I liked most all their albums. The live version of I Can't Keep From Crying on the 3 LP '70's Pop Festivals collection is his absolute best. Spent many a late night falling asleep with that on the headphones.

Undead one of the best live albums - so is Recorded Live. Always loved Slow Blues In C.

Man I miss Alvin :tears:
