The Name That Album thread

nice choice...Part 2 is pretty good. I'm more of a fan of Gong - You, tho.

I've got one ready to go. Album title and artist have been cropped off the top.

"You" would have been too easy (but my favorite of the trilogy as well.) There is a dual-cd set of remixes titled "Gong You ' reMixed" by various electronic artists that is really good.

Well, you knew that someone would have known this one flat out. It's

Gong
Radio Gnome Invisible Volume 2: Angel's Egg
1973 (U.K. Virgin)

(ps: and that cover's a bit more stained than my copy)

YOU were the first person I thought would guess it, believe it or not. At least now I know I can be a bit more challenging next time around and not feel restrained. BTW, I have no idea what the stains are or where they came from :dunno:

Damn... If I were ever to win a round, I was going to use a Bauhaus cover. I was afraid it would be too easy and now I see I was right about that.

Ouch. That is the most frustrating miss yet for me. And right in my wheelhouse.

I actually have 2-3 FG albums, just not this one. Funny, I'd never noticed the Frank & Polly Jean facial - and body :smoke: - similarities, especially in his "covered in shaving (whipped?) cream phases.

New cover coming right up, took me awhile to prepare as my photo-editing skills suck.

This one shouldn't prove too elusive. Heck, I'll bet someone out there will know it immediately.

(check that I've saved the edited version... didn't include the name of the artist and/or album in the file name...)

Here it is:

That cover was from his tar and feathers phase; he used to perform in that "costume" as well. I figured a Google search on album covers with tar and feathers would ID the album cover. Tovey was crazy, in a good way, and is well missed. I've got all his albums, as Fad Gadget and Frank Tovey, except for his last one.

1. The album is from the 1990s.
2. The album was released with differecnt cover art for different media; depicted above is the cover art for the (12") vinyl version. (what we, um, used to call an LP)
3. What else, what else? Oh, it's really, really good and sorta my favorite album to be released by this artist. :D
