The Name That Album thread

LOL, thats great. The challenge there is to find someone that doesn't know this one. :D

Have you seen Soul Asylum's parody? If not do a search.

yeah, i've seen multiple parody covers, all of them are very good:yes:.

Oh man, a tricky one---:scratch2:, cool cover though.

Wow, that would be a tough unless familiar. Sure haven't seen it on an LP I own. Looks like a stylized sun symbol taking elements from traditional symbols. :scratch2: No artist come to mind though.

I've no idea. Looks a bit celtic. It's not The Celts though. Went down that route.

Perhaps a hint?

Little celtic, but almost more Native American in nature, as I generally think celtic patterns have a more geometric, polished feel. The album cover is a bit rougher, with more curves. Of course, i'm generalizing, perhaps horribly so. Just my take on it:scratch2:...

Recorded at "Madas" and "In Deep" studios, Stockholm (Sweden), 1995. Neo-Psychedelic.

If internet searches are okay, then I have it!

ADAM AXELZON- WELCOME BACK.

Found it through the subliminal sounds site, a great little company that has little-known artist on cd. Recently picked up Abner Jay from them:yes:, was just looking around there a little yesterday...

Originally released on Subliminal Sounds' own Xotic Mind label. Good job. :thmbsp:

, hoo-ray!. Best part about this is it gave me some new bands to look into, i'd love to know what Swedish neo-psychedelic bands are like. Discovered another while searching, Dungen, sound interesting:yes:.

I'll have one up soon guys, my last one doesn't count:D. I'll try not to make it too hard, but it won't be easy;)...have a couple on mind, just need to narrow it down:scratch2:...

That last one was tough. Didn't realise how many Swedish bands there are. All I could think of originally was Roxette.:D

:lmao:

Here's mine, may be a little tough, not sure- I will definately provide hints if needed. I had another two I was considering, but too little information was available about them, I think (maybe next time:D). As note/ background, I don't have this album, but I do have one of the artist, this album's cover is a bit more noteworthy/ more character.

Hints are freely available, as there isn't alot of information based on the cover. To get you started, the obvious; Old back-woods style blues artist (yeah, that should narrow it down:D). I would be shocked if someone knows this off the bat (you'd be the ones, though).

Besides Adam & Dungen, try to pick up or Dl some of the material by S.T. Mikael, another cog in the Xotic Mind wheel. Especially excellent is Mikael's album Soul Flower. Avoid Stomachmouths if you're into proper psych & not so much punk, but if you're a Stooges fan, might give Stomachmouths a listen, too.

I suppose it's a good thing ABBA wasn't the very first band that popped into your head :D Not quite 90s but now I've got Dancing Queen stuck in my head :sigh:

Thanks, i'll be sure to check all of them out:thmbsp:. I may be able to handle punk, as the stooges don't bother me too much.

Just to get things rolling, the artist in question is the one on the left. More importantly, he was blind. That may narrow it down a little. I can add the record label, or personal info if needed- fasinating character:yes:.

Wow, He certainly looks familiar but doesn't seem to be any of the classic names I associate with blind blues guitarist. I've seen those glasses before too but for all I know they were on my great aunt. Can you narrow down to a style or region? The guitar looks Fender-ish but not quite. Anyone know what it is?

Sure looks like a '60s Kay/Airline or Teisco Del Rey type. Definitely an early '60s department store-style offering.

Still stumped but becoming more familiar with lesser-known blind, blues guitarists.

The guitar looks like a Tiesco, really cheap junk sold by lots of mail order houses. They've become somewhat collectible (what hasn't?) but they are truly crap IMO.
