My wife and I have discovered that the original Prisoner series is about the best thing ever. Any fans?

We're big Lost fans, and oh boy did Lost lift concepts out of the Prisoner.

Huge fan. First TV series I bought on DVD, and one of the few I can watch over and over again.

Always wanted to see it, but finally got around to putting it on the Netflix list. I'm blown away. With shows that old, you expect them to be a little slow paced and dated, but not this one. I can't wait to get to the end.

Yep, no Lost without the Prisoner.

Very, very imaginative...McGoohan is one of my heroes.

Oh McGoohan is the man. I believe he passed recently right? Up until I saw the Prisoner, I was only familiar with him as the warden in Escape from Alcatraz.

Yeah, no Prisoner, no Lost. I've only seen the first episode so far and I can think of at least four major concepts they directly lifted.

Huge, huge, huge fan. I remember seeing it on TV the first time it aired, and Rover scared the living crap out of me. IMO, this is the best television ever done.

Many of my friends are true Prisoner geeks- before the advent of video tape, we would play cassettes of episodes at work over and over.

A very large "6" hangs in the Very Best Room. :) DVDs and SuperBeta copies (Laserdisc) of the series reside there as well.

And the remake left me cold, confused and unsatisfied. Did anyone else hate it as much as I did?

"You really are the LIMIT, Number Six!"

I was a big fan when it originally came out. I never understood the way it ended. Can anyone explain it?

My take on Fall Out in a nutshell:

You must go mad to escape being Prisoner and become "free."

Theme became monotonous. Only so far you can push the concept. Enjoyed it highly while it was on. One of my favorite shows.

Enjoy,

Big Prisoner fan. Found they were re-running on cable (IFC?). Also enjoyed 'Secret Agent' with that Johnny Rivers theme song. McGoohan was excellent in both.

To a lesser extent there was 'The Saint' and of course 'The Avengers', Diana Rigg in a leather suit hmmmm ... but i digress :)

also a big fan. just watched them all recently again. didnt watch the new one yet but i might.

dangerman wasnt bad either. i feel Lost is overrated though.
