The worst song ever recorded?

Anything country and anything by the Greatful Dead.
Hmmmmm......... maybe that's too harsh.
Almost anything country and almost anything by the Greatful Dead.

FreeTURD was not just overplayed. It was a bad song from day one. "If I leave here tomorrow, will you still remember me?" I would guess the answer would be, no.
You and I can both hear Ronnie singing that in our heads. Maybe that's why y'all don't like it...but forgotten? Not any time soon.

And then you have to consider the ones that fall into "Good Song, LOUSY recording" category... The one that GLARES at me is George Harrison's "What is Life?" off his 1970 "All Things Must Pass" album. I have NEVER heard a version of that song that DIDN'T sound like it was recorded under water in a THICK blanket. When it was recorded, 1970, they SHOULD have known how to record loud music clear & distinctly.

Listen to the version on "Live in Japan".

Thick as a Brick & A Passion Play.
Has anybody actually listened to these more than once?

And back to Freebird..... Yeah it was/is overplayed, which is very annoying because I find it just as boring now as the very first time I heard it.

I referenced your post in mine, so I thought it would be fairly clear. I was attempting to say that you sort of missed the point.

Oh.... that's cool. And I did see that you referenced my post, I got that. Thing is to me it wasn't fairly clear. For purposes of clarification what is it that was fairly clear? What point is it that I sort of missed?

There is a commercial out now with some sort of "Push" song. I can't hit mute and/or change the channel fast enough.

Does he work with sharp objects?

Duh...I said he was my co-worker. :D

Regarding the Snoop Dog/Jason video; I just now heard for the first time. I posted the link from work, and couldn't listen to it prior. IMHO, it's benign and worth seeing once. Snoop Dog (Snoop Lion?) is entertaining. My co-worker was over stating his opinion about the song, because he and I have been getting irritated at some other co-workers, based on the way they talk (and the crap they yell about). Nuff said about that.

"The First Time Ever I Saw your Face", right in there with "The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald" for droning monotomy.

Correct me if im wrong, but isn't Lynard Skynard responsible for defining a whole genre of music with southern rock? Isnt there something to be said for that? They are what Michael Jackson is to Pop, or Elvis is to Rock and Roll right?

No. Southern Rock could probably be said to go back to Elvis or Buddy Holy along with a host of others.
As far guitar oriented "Southern Rock" it was the Allman Brothers that really broke stuff into the mainstream nationwide.
