The worst song ever recorded?

I want to grab hold of an axe every time Springsteen's Rosalita is within my earshot.

Really? Why?

What really does it to me is "Pride (In the Name of Love)". Repetitive? Check. Incessant whining by one of the most narcisscistic and self-absorbed people in pop music? Yup. Boring, unimaginative song structure? You bet!

In short, it's got all the U2 hallmarks and everything that made them famous all rolled into one insipid, insufferable, seemingly endless marathon of whimpering and snivelling.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Some of my best friends enjoy U2.

Im seeing some songs that actually make me want to run out and get that album...maybe I just mistake "art" for garbage. You guys are naming some chart toppers!

Eye of the Tiger...... a real stink bomb! a really boring stink bomb, a really repetitive boring stink bomb.

Speaking of stinkers "We Built This City on Rock and Roll" by one of the Jefferson's. I think we may even get a consensus on this turd.

Any song on Neil Diamond's "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". I never did like him much but this drivel really capped it off.

Every time I play 4 Non Blondes I think of you Sandy. Lucky it isn't all that often. :D

I know this is subjective...but there have been some horrendous songs on otherwise good albums from the rock and roll era. I was prompted to create this thread after hearing the great side 2 of Double Fantasy first, and then hearing "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss" and "Give me Something" on side 1. Oh my God, I heard Yoko was terrible but I haven't really listened to it before.

Another song that comes to mind is "Bugs" by Pearl Jam on Vitology.

I know a lot of this crap is "experimental" by established artists who can do anything they want, but for the love of God....:thumbsdn:

Roxanne by the Police. I can't turn it off fast enough.

In 1977 the Punk power trio I drummed in played "Yummy-Yummy". We slowed it down a little and played it real loud with a rock-steady beat and a distorted chugga-chugga guitar. It was pretty cool.

I could probably handle that version of it. :D
