I have had many Throens tables TD125, 126, 145,150,160 and 165...and still have 5 excluding this new addition.Needed one a few years ago and couldn’t find a vendor that had one, USA or in Europe…Seem to recall that one Swiss company had one listed for several hundred dollars but didn’t have available, so on advice from another vendor, asked Ray at Classic Turntable Company (CTC) if he had one or possibly locate one.
He had a used one for me in a couple of days, and the price was fantastic….of course CTC doesn’t advertise any parts for the TD124 so you’ll have to ask, and maybe my experience was a fluke but it saved my TD124
Good luck with your search,
Andy
With the 124 I don't understand much operationally yet including what the ribbon band does on how it must function...but wonderin, I have the old band and it has a clean break, might a bit of stell banding be used to patch the ribbon? A metals shop could do that if a small patch would not impair the functioning of the part one installed.
Thoughts?
