I must say after reading about the Brummels, it seems most people did think they were British.
Great thread, and no Beatles necessary!

I'm enjoying the lesser known songs from some of the well known names. Always something to discover on this forum.

The Beau Brummels had an Irish cat named Declan who was jettisoned after their first album. Valentino and Elliot were the brains behind that band which hailed from San Francisco. Their second album is some beautiful proto-west coast sound (shock out "You Tell Me Why"). They also appeared on The Flintstones. But, yeah, definitely not British Invasion.

Love this number, which happens to be the background theme @ an important scene @ one of the vignette's ("Death Proof", IIRC) in Tarantino's film Grindhouse.
