All I know is the so-called "British Invasion" of America started in 1964 with the Beatles arrival in the USA and it supposedly ended in 1968-1969.
After that... it is no longer considered the British Invasion. The Brits had invaded.
Sort of like if I were to land my boat on the beaches of Normandy in 1987, it would no longer be called "D Day".
So when I see the Rolling Stones Between the Buttons, it definitely fits the definition but then I see the 1979 release by the Kinks "Low Budget" I'm thinking... naw the invasion is long over by that point.
Still a great album though.

Naw I just think the "invasion" was over by then. It was Mission Accomplished. The Brits had conquered America.
I do like the album though and it is super-cool that you have it on reel to reel. It still looks brand-new.
I actually went to see the Kinks with my girlfriend during that tour in 1979 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia. I was a senior in high school. It was a great concert and was the one and only time I got to see the Kinks. It was also known as the "One For The Road" tour as I'm sure you are aware and they made a live album from it plus a video. I still have the ticket stub and the DVD here somewhere.
One thing I remember was I got caught trying to bring some "contraband" into the Spectrum that night and a big Philly cop took it from me and said "You just donated this to the Philadelphia Police Dept." Then when I complained he said "Just consider yourself lucky I'm still letting you in". I zipped my mouth up after that and still enjoyed the concert.

I saw them on that tour in Lowell MA. That live album includes a song from the show at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. That was my third Kinks show.
It was a very memorable album and tour for me. I had just turned 18 and was struggling to keep gas in my guzzler car.
