I have so many new gems to share.
The previous thread somehow just can't accommodate the new artists and new albums, which is for glorious past and for nostalgia.
But I can't entangle in the past for the rest of my life, I want to explore.

With her crisp voice and precise lyricism, singer Arianna Neikrug first came to audiences' attention as the winner of the 2015 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Following her win, she issued her debut album, 2018's Changes, on Concord Music.
A native of Los Angeles, California, Neikrug grew up listening to an array of sounds, from R&B and Motown classics to folk, jazz, and pop. After high school, she honed her skills studying at the prestigious Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Graduating in 2015, she launched her career with several accolades, including picking up the Outstanding Soloist award in the college division of the Next Generation Jazz Festival. Also in 2015, she entered the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, where she ultimately finished in first place. As part of her win, she signed a recording contract with Concord Music.

As a solo artist, she has earned plaudits performing around the world, including shows at Birdland in New York City, at Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles, and at the 2016 International Montreal Jazz Festival in Canada. In 2018, she released her debut album for Concord, Changes, which featured contributions from Grammy-winning pianist/producer Laurence Hobgood.

Dallas, Texas-based Ashleigh Smith is a gifted jazz and R&B vocalist who first came to prominence as the winner of the 2014 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. Born in LaGrange, Georgia, Smith was interested in music from a young age, encouraged to sing by her mother (a physical therapist) and father (a former band director). By her teens, she was a dedicated performer influenced by her love of jazz artists like Ella Fitzgerald as well as classic R&B icons like Stevie Wonder and Prince. After high school, she earned a full-ride scholarship to study classical music at Georgia's Columbus State University. However, after attending a jazz camp at the University of North Texas, she transferred to the esteemed jazz institution. After earning her undergraduate degree, Smith spent several years working as a backup vocalist for pop and soul artist Chrisette Michele. In 2012, she competed in the inaugural year of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition and ultimately finished in second place. Undeterred, she returned to the competition in 2014 and won, taking home $5,000 and a recording contract with Concord Records. Also in 2014, Smith, who has a history of pageant involvement and community service volunteerism, was crowned Miss Black Texas USA. In 2016, she delivered her debut full-length album for Concord, Sunkissed.
 
On the Night Train show many weeks back, Ted Grossman had a female jazz vocalist guest. Did not catch her name. Ted quizzed her with playing vocalists for her to guess who they were.
During this show she mentioned one singer who turning away from jazz to pop to make a career.

IMO, if a few CD or vinyl sales to live performers supports thier career, it's a good thing for jazz.
I'm likeing concept of this thread. Think there is room for it.

Camila Meza belongs to a new generation of jazz musicians that are interested in creating new sounds and allowing diverse influences into their music. With love for this exploration, Camila felt right at home in the diverse and creative jazz scene of New York City. She graduated from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in 2012 where she had the chance to study with masters such as Peter Bernstein, Vic Juris, Sam Yahel, Steve Cardenas and Gil Goldstein amongst others. But even before working with these masters, she began playing with her peers and other musicians of New York, quickly becoming part of the New York community.
