Tomorrow's Seventh Annual International Record Store Day

OH! Thank you! I'll have to go see what they've got. It depends on the asking price too. I've been planning on buying two of these albums anyways.

Here's my list:

White Stripes: Elephant
Lamb Of God: New American Gospel
Puscifer: V is for Vagina
The Notorious B.I.G.: Ready to Die
Botch: American Nervoso

I go every year, yea most of the good stuff is gone but what I listen to not much is available anyways......I go for the in store promos and sales of normal stock.

Would love to find Liquid Tension Experiment 2, I doubt any store ordered it.

EDIT: Never mind...I just bought the album direct from Magna Carta records online!! woo-hoo

I will be checking out the sales. Most of the top stores here will have live music and reduced prices.

Sunny day in the 70s. Should be fun. I have been waiting for today. Last year I stumbled into it and bought 40 used records.

Cheers, Bob

Quite busy today in stores! :music:
My RSD loot:

I walked from the record store to my office (since my wife is off with the kids running errands), where I fortunately have a turntable. Don't have a camera though. I was 5th in line, and got most all of what I was looking for. They didn't have any of the Pussy Galore or Cal Tjader (now there's a pair).

What I did buy:

7" singles by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, Iron & Wine, Mike Cooley, and Public Image Ltd.
10" EPs by Garbage and Mumford & Sons, plus a 10" album by Dave Brubeck
12" single by Pulp
LPs by Van Dyke Parks (Song Cycle), The Cure, The Glove, the Miles Davis Sextet (Someday My Prince Will Come), and Big Star

Still haven't opened everything yet to see what is coloured and what is black wax. The Big Star double LP is clear orange.

Yeah, it's capitalism. Profits from RSD are part of what keeps my local record store in business, which is a good thing for both me and the folks that work there.

I got the Tame Impala EP and Stephen Malkmus and friends doing Can's Ege Baymasi. The lines are getting a little nuts though.

The line at End of an Ear in Austin was easily twice last year's. I got there 30 minutes before opening last year and was about #60 in line. This year I got there nearly two hours before opening and was #65. That said, I got nearly everything I wanted.

I rolled to the store about two hours after open and there wasn't a single album I was interested in. They had one shelf for the RSD releases and it was small. Can't expect too much form a small town store I guess.

It's awesome to see all the RSD releases up on everyone's favorite auction site. Good to see someone will get a lot of enjoyment out of these records after they shell out $100.
