God, that's beautiful

Thanks for the positive comments. I also have 2 fully functional SX-D5000s and a donor unit. It is 80 WPC, but thumps and sounds just as well as the SX-D7000.....

Look into the Kenwood Basic M2a power amplifier.

It is rated at 220wpc into 8 ohms. Very nice amp.

I think it was made around 1983-1984 or a little later.

M2A is a great choice for seperates, but for integrated in Kenwood, I'll toss in the L02A. :thmbsp:

Here's a photo of my McIntosh 4300V receiver and Nakamich CR-7A cassette deck. I purchased both pieces new in 1988, and they both still make great music.

I owned a KA-3500 and found the highs and mids pristine and the bass a little thin. I wonder if I should try another unit with more power on my AR-5's.,,not sure...

It doesn't get much better than the Kenwood KA-907, in any era.

dew.

Absolutely so. Step up into any one of the dual mono Kenny's, and I think you will find the bass extention which you seek! In spades!

NAD 7155 rated at 55wpc but played well above that, with its high output current capability. However, put a 2155 power amp with it, then hit the bridge switches on both and you have a hefty 150 wpc. Clean sounding tuner, too.

Marantz SR9000G

Rated for 130 WPC, and some bench test at 150

First digital tuner for Marantz

Export only

Lush sound.

I realize that it's sorta '70s and sorta '80s (78-82), and under your wattage, but the Yamaha A-1 is a fine piece of equipment.

I use one regularly, in rotation in a second system with a Fisher tube integrated and a Yamaha CA-1010 and the A-1 more than holds its own. I absolutely love it, and it sonically, to me, sounds better than the 150wpc HK that I listed earlier.

If we can stay a bit with Yamaha I will sugest the A-2000 (early 80's) witch is a stunning unit, the amp part is a power downgraded B-2x but same design. That alone makes the unit worth seeking out, the bad thing is it was a japan only unit. But still, properly the best integrated Yamaha ever build.

Funny enough, if the A-2000 was not the best integrated from Yamaha. Then it must be the AX-2000a, part of the Titanium series (Yamahas TOTL series from 89-93). Just the weight alone - 28kg, sayes good old traditions.
130W @ 8 ohm (0,003%), dynamic power of 600W @ 1ohm.

I had the 665vxi version of this (my dad has it now)...and yes, it is one heck of an integrated amp. The vxi has 150 watts dual mono and sounded very nice. I've used the amp section by itself a few times. The only thing I didn't like about it were the multitude of little buttons that kept needed cleaned.

I agree, the HK 665 is hard to beat, and can be easily had for under $200.
