Topping D50

So, you guys tell me what I need to hook this up. I’m using an iPad with a camera adapter and a usb cable to the dac in my integrated amp. I figured I would plug the usb cable into the topping d50, then use rca cables to go from the dac to my integrated and there would be an external power supply to the unit. Looks like there is a port on the back of the unit to plug a power supply in, just not one provided.

I would trust this over USB power, especially since this one is linear and not a noisy switching power supply.

I ordered a linear power supply for my phono stage--it worked out to be the same price with shipping, but it was easier to order on Amazon (didn't have the hassle of setting up an account). Either way, I got what I wanted!

It comes with a USB to 5V barrel plug cable. I just powered it with an iPhone wart. Seems fine.

How are you liking it so far? I just installed mine this morning but haven't had a chance to listen to it.

I've been listening to mine for about an hour using a Raspberry Pi running ropieee and streaming with Roon. Mostly FLAC and Tidal. Sounds good to me so far. Gapless playback is nice.

Since the D50 does not come with a PS you need one if USB power is not an option.

If you're worried about noise from a PS or PC, just hook it up to a external battery that you charge overnight.

I'd just get the Jameco one from Amazon for $15. It's linear and works perfectly for this DAC. This DAC is using the mobile versions of the ES9038 after all.
