Most truck owners in the states are to concerned about looks to buy a functional truck like that. The height of beds on popular trucks here are way to high, gone are the days of being able to reach over the side of the bed to grab an item. My grandpa kept an old 1982 ford pickup for 30 years, he used it into his 90s even though he could of afforded a new truck but he couldnt reach over and grab his tools or wire needed to repair his fences with new trucks. Heck even the Tacomas side walls are too high these days unless what you are grabbing is right against the sidewall.
Tried to find a pic to compare the height of the top of bed on older trucks to the height of the mens shoulders. Todays beds are as high as your average mans shoulder, but alas, we know trucks today are rarely purchased by those that are constantly working with things in the back of the truck. Even old truck ads liked to exaggerate.
