I to drove American my whole life but got upset with Gm giving driver info without consent , multiple recalls for Gm Ford and Chrysler went with a new Forester for the wife, good rep , affordable and plenty of room. Inside for a small suv ! Spoke to a lot of people who owned them most were very happy with the forester .

I'm assuming this is "Tony the Wrench""? if so it's good to see you posting again.

Nothing is broke per se, it's just that the front seat cushion and side kidney support is a mess with rips, tears and exposed stuffing. Obviously is just cosmetics but to me it's an eye sore.

I was able to pull an identical year/make/model front seat from a local junk yard for $40 and figure it would be better then paying for online seat covers that might or might not fit.

There was a yellow wiring sheath coming from under the front carpeting and were 2 connects that went under the SRS equipped seat. My autobody buddy is going to install the seat for me so I'm assuming he'll know which of the 2 connects not to plug in?

Here's one you don't see in the States. Hired a Hi-Lux for the day to pick up some car parts. It was a very basic no-frills model and probably is too low expectation-wise for American market. Pity because there a lot of these old reliable things going about their daily business. Once I was driving this, I saw them everywhere. Suspension was on the firm side.

Speaking of not seeing in the US-

I read that Toyota is releasing a new version of the FJ Landcruiser.

Of course, we're NOT going to get it in the US... just like every other small, inexpensive, practical vehicle that carmakers make these days.

Issues: The analog dash clock in the 2014 Lexus GS died 2 years ago. Otherwise, no issues at all with any of them.

Toyota family here. 17 Tundra, 24 Crown.

I'm a big fan of the reliability. The Crown is so fun to drive, with Lexus like interior. AWD + hybrid, plenty of get up and go.
Both do just fine in the Montana winter.

Regrets? Why did I get rid of my factory wheels for the truck! (they went to a land cruiser, at least) Why didn't we get the higher level trim Crown or wait for the wagon edition? Small regrets.

Bigger regrets? Why did I get rid of my 08 FJ Cruiser? Why did I get rid of my '91 FJ80?

Have you seen that CROWN is now a separate brand from Toyota?
The flagship they are showing is amazing.

Not to stray too far off topic, but my wife's Buick Encore has the turbocharged 4 cyl engine and it's a dog from start until close to hwy speed. The turbo needed replacement with the engine odometer under 65K miles. But my wife still loves it, go figure. facepalm-smiley-emoticon.gif
