Traveling to New England. Looking for advise.

I'm too lazy to check but I always enjoy the USS Constitution and the museum on site is excellent too. The science museum nearby is also very good. The oldest restaurant in the US is nearby as well, "The Oyster House" or something close to that - can't say it's the best but it was pretty good. Have a great time!

That's good to know rBuckner. Thanks for the well wishes and I will have a great time.
Heck, just look at all the suggestions of cool places to go and great eating and drinking establishments to visit.
Good group of folks we have here I must say.

Screw Switzerland, virtually ANY/Every view of Doc Hardy's place is a calendar-worthy shot...

well -- I dunno about that, but I do know that visitors here don't need to speak German, French, or to know how to yodel.

We do have views of cows, though, just like in the Alps...

Just had a super great talk with valveglow as he and his wife just got back from up in that area. Nice guy.
Looks like we will be good to go as far as colors, food, and good places to go and check out.

Thanks so much to all you guys for giving your suggestions about what to see and do up in that part of the country. Your help is appreciated.
Can't wait! Lobsta rolls here I come.

We were at a wedding in Maine (at the foot of the ski slopes at Sunday River) yesterday. We drove up I-91, down I-93*, across US-302, 3, NH-115, and US-2 to get there -- right past the northern edge of the "Presidential range" and Mt. Washington National Forest. The scenery was absolutely beautiful. (The wedding and reception were also excellent, BTW!)

The other day:

FWIW, grab shot of the Presidentials from the northern fringe, along US-302 (dang utility wires), also yesterday...

Note the relatively thick clouds right over the summit of Washington (well, I think it's Washington!) -- the weather up there is almost always bad :-p

Today in my neighborhood (we walked up the hill for a change); almost unbelievably gorgeous day here today. The radio weather forecast today was for "Chamber of Commerce weather" ;-)

Bucky Badger, where are you now? Hope you're enjoying the trip. I'm currently in Lebanon, NH, but spent several years along the coast of Maine. If you're the type to enjoy a good brew, there's several places that should not be missed.

We really do need to have a Lebanon <--> Claremont Axis of Evil AK shindig before the whole area's snowed under! Heck, we'll even invite folks from across the river, I guess...

;-)

I will commence fomenting anon.

I thought the Green Staters all hunkered down on the weekend when all the leafpeepers show up (i.e., this past weekend)! ;-)

Sounds good! When and where?

got your PM...
somewhere along the Axis )... maybe the Nexus :-)
If we do it next month -- everyone has to wear some blaze orange, just in case!

It was really tough trying to get around anywhere here this past weekend. Had to use some super secret back road routes.

I was in the CT River valley area today near Hanover, NH. Absolutely incredible colors over that way. Heavy rain tomorrow may bring a lot of leaves down.
