Turntable Cover maintenance

Any suggestions on products to take out light scratches and scuffs on my turntable cover? Also is there a way to stiffen the hinges?

Do you have any equipment a Dremel, die grinder, buffer? or chemicals? and is it plexiglass / perspex, or the garrard type thin vacuum formed plastc cover?

I have a Dremel with buffer and I believe the cover is plastic. It's a early 80's Technics SL D20.

I am not aware of any good way to stiffen the hinges on that turntable.
