You definitly have one of the prettiest room i have ever seen. All this equipment is simply stunning !!

Oh and the dog too look good ;)

Nice work on the bar that looks great. It looks like the 16.5 was meant to be there and it fits in great with the room. I would like to do something similar with mine. Mine is in a cabinet low and it sure would be nice to stand upright to use it.

How are you liking the periphery ring? How has it changed the sound?

I'm pretty pleased with the ring. It's affect on the overall sound isn't earth shattering, but I find it added a bit more definition, especially on the low end. It also does an amazing job with warped records, and seems to add stability to the VPI's unipivot tonearm (no more weaving up and down with the record).

Just ordered an SDS, so I'll be curious to see what kind of additional improvement it makes.

Beautiful system and what a blessing to have a buddy to share it with. I am super jealous of your room and can only hope to be in a similar position some day.

New setup

After months of searching for a cabinet deep enough to hold my amp, I finally bit the bullet and hand something custom made. Took about 6 weeks from start to finish, but I like it. Also added a turntable platform to help with the vibrations from my hardwood floors, and picked up an SDS for the VPI.

Very nice. I agree about the albums though. Do you have any solutions in mind?

cubdog

Thanks cubdog. I'm on the hunt for a barristers bookcase that's deep and tall enough to hold them. I called a dealer from Hale and gave him the dimensions I needed. If I don't hear back soon, I'll probably go local and have something like this custom built:

Very pretty. What kind of wood is it? Nice idea with the rope lighting in the 16.5.

Thanks. It's made of solid walnut. Nice and sturdy.

That would look great but the average depth is only around 10 inches. Custom my be your best if expensive bet.

Looks that way. I just spoke with Hale - they make one that's 12" deep and 12 3/4" high. I needed another 1/2" on the depth for it to work.

holy sh!t dude, that is an amazing looking system! the new cabinet looks amazing , what liknd of wood is that? solid wood or veneer? man, it is beautiful, I think I am full on jealous!

Thanks Jeremy. It's solid walnut. I used a guy out of Kansas and had it shipped. He messed up a bit on the original doors but luckily I noticed the problem early and he was agreeable to making it right. It's exactly what I was looking for.
