Haliaetus Audio Weaponry...DANGER DANGER DANGER

In some ways, these have got to rate among the most distinctive, eye catching, breath snatching, fear hatching of all speakers ever.

haliaetus wins.

Theys looks flippin awesome! Like a turbo charged, nitrous injected speaker.

Yeah, they are definitely NOT the "blend in with the decor" type of speakers. More like the "stand back, I dare you not to look at me" type. Can you imagine entering into a music room and seeing a pair of those glaring back at you. I can imagine Gov. Arnold S (CA) probably has a home theater room in his home, using these as his surround speakers.

Yep, those would go well in the wife's mid-century theme in a few rooms. Just don't have that kind of coin to drop on speakers as my limit thus far has been about 10% of what those fetch.

BTW, here are some more views from manufactures web site ClaraVox.

Yamaha JA5002 "Ear" speakers...

Very interesting shapes and tech in these speakers! I am guessing they were made specifically for tube amps based on the low power ratings of the driver (25w RMS). Yamaha sure was into some interesting projects in the past. :D

In addition to the JA-4002 / 5002 / 6002 series drivers, there were other similar shaped drivers used in the NS10/15/20/30 series speakers. The JA-5004 driver is one of these. Here are some additional links:

The harddrives sound like crap. There are youtube videos. But it does make sounds.
yep.

built a hard drive speaker at work a few years back out of boredom.

to make it more listenable, I bolted on a cap from a 2L coke bottle to the actuator arm, and then screwed the bottle back on.
this acts like a horn.

still sounds like crap, but at least it makes sound now.
