Vancouver BC / Lower mainland deal alerts

Completely different sound signature. ADS are really nice speakers, is the price $180 or $150? Tweeters look to be Peerless rather than Braun. So, I don't know if the tweeter are original, all the ADS speakers I've seen had the Braun tweets in them.

Thanks for the reply Mythless...

I wondered if the sound was completely different.

I e-mailed and asked questions - which of course according to the Craigslist world means I will most likely not hear back. I was wondering if the Tweeters were original or not. Thanks for sharing the Braun information, I really appreciate that.

The two prices is a bit confusing.

ADS speakers seem to have a lot of enthusiastic fan base who say nothing but great things about them here - the big reason why I keep an eye out for them.

I will see if I get a reply and work from there.

Thanks again.

It seem like the speaker market here is very limited...if it's not one of the AK'ers jumping on a deal, then anything that's not "home theater" tower like takes a while to sell...

My ad. No bites. I guess I'm high.

well that would certainly explain the red eyes, the random giggling and the perpetual bag of doritos...

:banana::banana::banana:

and btw the turntable in the pic above is the TD160 I bought from you... still going strong

I think the price is ok..new surrounds at a shop is the cost of the speakers. Agreed the market is a bit dead on speakers unless something exceptional..even then I have seen cool stuff hang around for a long time.
I keep checking cl for a sweet tt and or phono stage upgrade but hard to resist scouring all the stereo goods.

They turned out well... better than I thought they would actually. Damn happy with the outcome all around! Sometimes the luck is good. The delivery turned out to be real convenient so got the buyer to agree to either a food bank donation or the toy drive, so seems like a win-win!

Right, not a selling market right now, at least for what I'm flogging...:no:

Nicely done! Where they chairs you had around? :)

The chairs were actually tossed out to the curb by some people moving out down the street from our house. They were a bit banged up and covered in paint from someone using them to stand on. The pads were completely decomposed to orange/yellow toxic dust, but I lucked out when I recognized them. Wish I had some pre-pictures! It was my first gold from trash exchange. All the work was done while I was on a picket line so it was a nice return. Pretty sure the seller was a decorator re-selling them because I unloaded them into her van, not into her house, but I am happy with my return on them. It will fund my speaker project underway, my console project and the phono-pre, so all in all a great day.
