View ad to continue - the latest Advally bullsh*t

I have been from day one of joining, that just happened overnight. Thanks for the reminder as I didnt even notice

That said, I was finally getting some of the ads people are taking about and thought "that's weird, its never happened to me" lol.

And to the ads, I just refreshed the page and all was well, been doing it all day. And now that I have seen it, its really no big deal to me if I decided not to resubscribe. I have noticed I don't seem to be wound as tight as many here.
My pleasure, glad I could help

the decision to post here regarding advally comes from a place of concern regarding AK, not criticism of it.

Just to say, FWIW, that you're not alone in this regard.

In my view: If I was making a substantive report about some new phenomenon, I would definitely put it in the "Report..." thread at the top of this forum.

But if I just want to add my voice to the many that are just expressing unhappiness with an already-well-known phenomenon, I don't see any problem with venting in this thread.

I'll add that, having heard from Ms Grumpy that she's on the case, I'm content to be patient and wait for further response.

Hey.. resubscribed and zero ads... imagine that
do you get these little tiny ones in the top right corner on a desktop pc browser?

ps they don't bother me im just curious

i'm not a subscriber any more, forced retirement, fixed income, exchange rates, blah blah blah.
but
not many pc's are exactly the same. there are literally 100,000 variations.
take the second and some responsibility for your own stuff.
ad blockers are a simple 2-3 clicks for every single browser.

Appreciate this and looking at the last post on that thread made by buglegirl as she asks advally by name great questions, anything I posted would mostly be redundant.

And yes, I'm not impatient in this regard either. I am a subscriber with an adblocker so the problems aren't affecting me personally. I did not message her (Mrs. Grumpy) personally with this information but posted it here with the thought that she is likely crazy busy otherwise and this forum has a bunch of admins, staff and moderators that will see this here that wouldn't otherwise. the more eyes on a problem the more likely a solution is found.

Lets go through the logic. Keeping a website like AK functioning costs money. The funding sources are from ads, subscription fees and other donations. What other sources are there?
AK gets a kickback for every ebay purchase from people that "nominate" (not right word) AK as originating entity. Remember reading an admin(or??) posting that if all AKers did this then there would be plenty of money and just maybe they wouldn't need the ads.

There is another thread on same topic but couldn't find.

I don't receive ads (yet?) however if I experiance half the problems you guys are seeing, I'm outta here (not that it means much)

These are called "affiliate links". If AK members consistently used even just the ebay and amazon links for all purchases, the small commissions paid by them would go a long way to funding AK. There are countless other companies who have affiliate programs as well The list includes other countries' sites., like ebay.ca and amazon.co.uk.

You use the link on the page above to go to the site you wish to visit, and it logs you as an AK affiliate customer. Even browsing on ebay generates pennies for AK. Those pennies can add up.

Ms Grumpy has updated the "Report Problems" thread.
Thank you Ms Grumpy for keeping us in the loop!

Thanks for the update, but please reference post #133 ;)

Maybe time for an awareness campaign??? With over 388k members... I've changed my ebay logon but my purchases are modest, maybe $1k/year(non-audio)

I'm confused, what page above? I followed the thread referenced but missed the links - I'm not the brightest tube in the amp so maybe it's me.

Exactly, it's not real clear. I vaguely remember making changes to my logon. This needs to be a simple link on the home page or... so even the tube guys can work it out (LOL?)

Two weeks later, still not a word from AdVally in their own thread — the one members were told to post problem screenshots in. Their account hasn't logged into AK in almost a month and hasn't commented there since March.

It's increasingly difficult to conclude anyone at Advally plans to tackle the malicious ads AK is infested with. The arrangement, as it stands: AdVally pays AK, the ads phish for passwords and bank cards, members and guests report it into a thread nobody with the ability to fix it reads, and nothing changes. Whatever anyone intends, that's what the money is currently buying.
