Now, I myself "upgraded" some Advent speakers, and I still have them. The cabinets had already been partially butchered to fit a different tweeter, I had a bunch of Dayton drivers without a home, so I used the cabinets.

Who knows, they may sound decent to the current owner... I'M not going to buy them...

I'd also add, not actually accurate to sell them as Advent's though anymore, they are 100% "homebrew" now, no?

I would say 75% homebrew. The woofer, mid (I guess that's a mid anyway, or is it a second tweeter?), and cabinet have all been altered. As I alluded to above, the tweeter is stock (and IMHO the weak link of those speakers). If you get a chance to hear Advent 5002s, they are the same woofer and cabinet, but replace the screechy fried egg tweeter with a smooth sounding dome. Many will call me a heretic because they came from the buyout era, but they are the best sounding Advents I've heard.

He also has a "up grated" pair of Allison speakers. He has been selling the advents for years, I can't remember a time scrolling through local Craigslist and not seeing them. I'm not sure he sells much at his prices.

Man, that's almost painful to look at. It's like he cobbled in some Kabuki Sansui parts onto the Advents. Ironically, the work looks superficially clean and not the mismatched, butchered stuff, like duct tsped surrounds we've come to see.

I've been inside a ton of Advents and refoamed dozens, and built a set of Econowaved Utility Advents for my garage, but I'll take Zilch's and Bauhausler's experience over his guy's 40 years anyday...

The woofers that has been installed are a vintage 12" SANSUI (white paper cone, fabrics surrounds, which is never will be deteriorate ) and a super tweeters by Sansui as well!

In addition it was add a crossovers that will support all these drivers...the original crossovers and "fried eggs" mids/tweeters are still there!
