What amplifier and preamp would you buy

1 pair Sound Labs Majestic speakers
Audio research
1 each REFERENCE PHONO 2 Vacuum Tube Phono Preamplifier
1 each REFERENCE 5 Vacuum Tube Line-Stage Preamplifier
2 each REFERENCE 610T Amplifier

Plus a bunch of other outrageous stuff.

I suppose...

Accuphase M-8000 (pair of monoblocks)
Accuphase C-2810
Accuphase T-1000
Infinity IRS-V

No big deal. Just take your best shot.

Well then, on short notice, I might be inclined to go with the ARC reference gear that JoeESP mentioned (sans phono pre) and for speakers perhaps some Revel Ultima Salon2s.

JBL's Project Everest DD66000s might be an interesting twist too.

If money was no object I'd get myself a pair of $1,000 a night... ooops wrong forum. :nono:

Since I am from NY I'd buy McIntosh to support the local economy, and a new house to put them in.

Funny. If money were no object I would buy McIntosh - the whole company!

If cost was no object, I'd probably have Jeffery Jackson design and build a custom tube set-up, or get a pair of Paul Weitzel's (sp?) 800 watt tube mono blocks like the one's I heard at VSAC some years ago.

Being really cheap, I "might" settle for some DarTzeel gear. Those do sound pretty nice for a "production product".

Best Regards,

CT5 Preamp
LP275M Amp

I know they are not the most expensive but that is what I would choose.

Accuphase and Leben have some nice things I like as well but they are not American.
