Car amps on Craigslist

I've learned on Craigslist you can get a several thousand watt amplifier for your car for less than 100 bucks. Yet, I sold my Zapco car amp which was less than 100 watts per channel for 350 bucks?:scratch2:

Up here in Canada the term "rare" is used FAR too often in adds for any kind of audio gear or accessories. Every 2nd ad. for tubes seems to include that word.

After reading all these posts, I learned I better go check the list.

I know there's a deal I'm about to miss out on.:scratch2:

I've already posted prior in this thread but had to post just one more time. After re-reading many of the CL/Fleebay ads you all have submitted for laughs, I have just learned one more thing. I never in my life have read so many ads posted by illiterate and ignorant people. Several of them are a full paragraph long but somehow the advertiser managed to do it all in one sentence. Amazing, simply amazing at how illiterate some folks can be and still operate a computer or some other complicated electronic device such as a Sony boomox, etc. Laughable and entertaining for sure but kinda-sorta sad also............

O K, I bee soree fer sayin bad stuf bout uder les litterit fokks then mee.....!!! I am making a collection of hilarious ads. A couple examples:

The first is not audio related but funny:

"Looking for smaller street sleeper...Looking for one in good condition that will fit in a standard size garage."

I believe (hope?) they meant 'sweeper'.

"I have a big home stero with 4-15inch subs $300 Its a big system its got two tall speaker boxes with 2 15s in each box, they are proaudio and it comes with a teachwood reciver plus 5 disc changer and dual casstte deck. This thing is loud as hell i don t need the wife says it to lound so what the point of having something like that if you don t turn it up."

I'm all over that.

I ran across this one yesterday: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=407688 (I'm adding the thread because another sensible AKer copied the text from the ad in their post).

Apparently, in order to maximise the chance of selling audio on CL, the trick is to increase the original MSRP of what you're selling by a factor of two, then list that as what you paid for it. I learned this over the last few months

I learned that after 23 minutes in my car and stuck in slow moving traffic, that I'd call you to let you know that I'm on my way (and still on schedule) to the appointment we discussed 2 hours earlier, you'd say "Don't waste your time..., I just sold them!".

I've learned that JBLs come dusted:

JBL SURROUND CINEMA W/ POWDERED SUB - $125 (BEAVERCREEK, OH)

I wonder if you can feel the powder?

I learned that sifting through car audio to view home stereo gear is a waste of time and really sucks the big one. Can't someone do something about that across the board?

I learned that.... "I'm selling the turntable for my mom, it's like new she only used it a few times" means... She never used it because the stylus is missing.

Today I learned that you can sell just over 100 random records for $1800.
OLD RECORD ALBUMS - $1800 (GARDENA,CA)

Ad text (for when this ad expires)
"OLD RECORD ALBUMS - $1800 (GARDENA,CA)

"For the same price as new, these speakers have been tested so are better because no risk of a factory flaw. And you can get them today and save on shipping cost. Will deliver for an extra fee if within minutes from my location. Cash will work."
