828 boxes, driver that's visible is junk(not a D130 or JBL of any kind), in relative terms that is.
To kinda parrot Jcricket's sentiments, anybody with interest in VOTT's should check em out, the full removable backs make them easily accessible for the mods and upgrades required for hifi use.
I've seen the "dot" as both a vent, and in other cases it was actually felt glued to a solid dustcap, i'm guessing to damp the dustcap. I have some Oaktron full range drivers that have a nifty cloth covered vent in the dustcap.
I'm judging by the treated rolled paper surround, that those are fairly low end MI drivers.
Definitely Altec Voice of the Theater cabs. Look like A5 or A7. Well worth the asking price alone. Hell, I'd definitely buy em if I was there. Go get em. Run! I would even send the money to have em freighted at that price.
ESS woofers have Aluminum dust caps behind felt if you take the covers off.
Some folks think there's a problem with the ESS speaks with a rattle when the inner aluminum cap lets loose - no way to tell unless you pull the cover and see another cover that the glue let loose = rattle. Sounds a lot like a foam surround gone bad.
