What is YOUR pet peeve? Let's have a laugh.

I will say, it's nice that some pharmacies now give the option of a "non-child proof" cap for pill bottles.

...and the invention of the "either/or" cap that is child proof installed one way, and non-child proof installed upside down.

Streaming is becoming the new cable TV.
The rates keep going up.
You have to buy multiple 'packages' to get the few shows you really want and you end up with all sorts of content you don't want.
Even with paying for access, some show commercials.

More times than I'd want to admit we've paid for a service where there was only one show that we were watching. I tend to get tired of a show if I watch the episodes too quickly so we can kill a couple months on one season. By then another show is on that we'd watch. Then later realizing how much we paid per episode...
Or the one that the services count on, we'd get bored and rewatch shows. I've read that the original shows on Netflix tend to only be a couple seasons because they figure people will just circle back and watch it again.

And there is the fun stuff where you are watching a series and suddenly the next season disappears. Sometimes leaving you with 1-2 and 4-5 but 3 is now on a different service or even nowhere to be found. Occasionally it will just be episodes here and there that aren't available. Some of the streaming services will list having season 1-2 but it turns out they really have 3-4 but they just label it 1-2.

That`s what happens when folks choose to be at the whims/control of all externally delivered content providers !

FWIW, I decided in 2010 when my big dish programing service went black after continuous programing from 1991 until then, due to the increasing popularity of the little dish taking over as a sat. video delivery service, & the big dish programing subscriber base shrinking, so from that moment I went totally inhouse with first purchasing DVD, on then upgrading to Blue Ray players/discs as my only video entertainment (prior , even never watching OTA TV, or radio, with only recently watching YouTube after I switched to a browser that totally blocks/remove all ads from the videos I occasionally find myself interested in watching, until that exploring YT using that browser I couldn`t stand to watch any videos with their multiple commercial interruptions for products/services that I will never, ever be interested in, nor need !

In the early days of streaming it was great. A couple services with a huge variety of shows for a reasonable price. Then everyone saw dollar signs and more services started up, dividing the content. Then the studios figured why license their content out when they could create their own services so the content got divided even more. The streaming only services had to pay more for content or make their own so their prices went up. And then the studios realized it is expensive to run and market a streaming service so they raised their prices. To make it worse the studios services don't even have all of their own content because they still license out some of it if they can get enough. To try to stand out they add video games and live sports and charge more because of it, even if you don't want that.

We bought a ReplayTV DVR back around 2000 and got spoiled not watching commercials. I just can't sit through them anymore. Now I use a HD Homerun tuner and DVR everything on a PC for playback on the TV. I can't sit through the commercials on live TV and online videos seem even worse with the commercials.

I want to buy a 7" picture sleeve on Discogs. The seller states that the picture sleeve is a variant. I contact the seller several days ago asking for pictures of the variant and provide an e-mail. Seller responds "Store policy is that an order must be placed first before any pictures are provided." ?????? Idiot.

Perhaps they have had an issue with people requesting pics and then using the image to create their own sleeve, costing them the sale :dunno:

If you are using a Discogs entry as your point of reference for your listing and your copy's sleeve is a variation I think you should make pictures of your variation available upon request. I wouldn't dream to do otherwise as a seller. If what you are saying is a concern then don't offer a high resolution scan. Offer a photograph taken on an angle or something. Or with a portion obscured. But at least convey what the sleeve looks like.

The "portion obscured" would be a great way to show the item while ensuring it's not copied, I have seen this done with vintage photographs for sale.

I've sold obscure records that there's no documentation of. I typically post 3-4 segments of the best tracks but not the entire songs or album. Same reasoning.

There are lots of paces that like to brag about the worst drivers, but in my experience Florida is the "hold my beer" state in that regard.

While that may seem to be true at first glance, the majority of worst are overwhelmingly imports/transplants from mostly Northern latitudes, as I`ve observed being a born & raised 71 yrs. FL lifer, IMO/E.

Telling a story to someone in my wife’s presence and she corrects some null point of it. Why do they do that?
Today it was “maybe 5 or 6 years I blah blah blah…” and at the stories end she says “how long ago did you say” and I repeat “maybe 5 or 6 years ago” and she says “ no it wasn’t, it was maybe 10”.
BFD! That has NO BEARING ON THE STORY!

FL natives like to blame "Northerners" and other out of state people for that.

However...

I lived in Ohio until age 20, and one thing I can tell you is-

Anyone that has ever driven in snow and ice will NOT pull out in front of someone who's going 50, and then go 35.

They will die, and that will "naturally select" drivers that don't drive that way to continue the species.

I didn't mean to imply anything different. My sister in Boca says the same thing, and she's a transplant.

Is it just my area or are other places recessing the manhole covers on the streets? I've been driving for 58 years and I don't remember having to play Dodge the Manhole Cover until the last few years. They just paved a section of road near me and every cover is down about 3 or 4 inches below street level. I have very few brain cells left so I don't want to lose them smashing my head as I run the gauntlet.
