This is interesting, as here we seem to get exactly the opposite problem, where the manholes, drains and water or gas valve covers are raised, a "binder" coat goes on the street, then seemingly the contractor goes on to other things...eventually the street is properly paved and utility covers nicely flush, but seems like weeks you are dodging these things.Laziness and/or cost cutting. Not removing and reinstalling the manhole cover framework rings, to raise them to the new pavement level, is a lot less work.
Unless people start to sue (and win) and it gets where it costs more to pay for people's damaged cars, than to replace the manhole surrounds- this practice will likely continue.
Regards,
Gordon.

In fact, we even have big DOT orange signs warning of the raised covers!
Most of the time when that happens I notice the driver was in a hurry to stop so they could focus on their phone.I'm getting old, yes, but there is a new trend in San Diego where drivers are leaving huge gaps between cars at lights - big enough for a CH-54 Sea Stallion helicopter to land - or even more for a carrier landing.

It's the same people that say "utilize" when "use" would be just as good."Fitment." Where did this crazy term come from? "Fit" is good enough. Does "fitment" make it better?

If so...just ignore as another ramble. My peeve for the day is the redundant/repetitive tunes that assault the ears every waking hour on most radio stations.
There seems to be a constant "loop" wherein the same songs are being shared each and every day.
Along with the above constant same ear-fed music, there's little in the way of traditional Western/Country music being offered on the dedicated "cow-boy-type" stations. The new material grates me, as it tends to sound all the same, with little in the way of melody or change of tempo.
Then there's Western Rap, another "fish-to-fry"!
Maybe I'm alone in this listening "rant"?If so...just ignore as another ramble.
