[aidynphoenix]

[le greque]

Let's build a ginat needle & "play" the grand canyon , it could be an unreleased Jimi hendrix album! :scratch2:

now that would be awesome!

[Isotonic]

Cool images, thanks!

Very cool. Hard to believe those things can contain sound information. Seeing a needle in the groove would probably be horrible. A huge diamond vibrating through the vinyl canyon! I'd never play a record again.

the image i get in my mind is reminiscent of the i. jones movie, 'raiders of...', where he gets chased by the huge stone sphere down some sort of race.

a huge diamond bearing down on you, coming at'cha thru the canyon...

(well, maybe you had to be there. (in my imagination, that is)) no

I'll bet he even cleaned the LP before the test. No wonder there are pops and clicks.

[2fives]

agreed, good stuff. I wish I had a decent microscope.

[hypertone]

The dirt looks like boulders clinging to a mountain, lol.

FWIW, he used an electron m'scope, not a 'regular' m'scope.

Thanks for sharing the cool pics, hard to believe something so strange looking can sound so good!
