Worst singers

Nobody mentioned George Thoroughgood, I mean Thoroughly Bad.:thumbsdn:

hey. hey! . . . HEY!! :dammit:

This thread is not nice, definitely not nice.

NOT NICE. :nono:

Thank goodness George probably did not see it.

As I type, his wicked, old time rock and roll guitar is playing LOUDLY with twangs, riffs and pulsating rhythm rushing :zoom: in a GREAT WAVE over, under, and past my monitor and into my head to my very soul. Yeah.:)

I IGNORE George's occasional flat note, his no-vibrato voice, b-e-e-cuz his guitar music is pure original rock right out the 50's and 60's. As in early American rock and roll. Oh Yeah.:guitar::banana:

This whole thread is not nice.

No karma. :sigh:

I bought his Move It On Over LP a week ago. I think the main problem people have with George T is that he affects the gravelly voice of an old bluesman. On some songs he sometimes doesn't try to sing like sandpaper and actually has a pretty good voice. Even when he sings like a bucket of gravel, he's still pretty much in tune, and he has a strong voice.

Who do you love? is one to play with the volume control set to 11.

As for another vocalist on the Sh!t List, Frankie Valli - just attenuate the treble of a typical Four Seasons recording by about 12 dB and the act sounds like human beings singing pretty well, instead of shrieking banshees.
and BAD KARMA on the person who suggests that they sound really good if the volume is attenuated by 60 dB.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:
I'm quoting you because of your signature. I just watched that movie again today!:D

Anyway, I'm in almost 100% agreement on all your nominations, but I like Geddy and Janice a LOT. However, I heard a Rush cover of THE TREES done by Dream Theater and that dude made my nuts hurt.

Oh, you children..Ye of Limited Knowlege...Back in the Sixties, there was an otherwise nice elderly lady, Mrs. Elva Miller, who decided she could sing. And she COULD, after a fashion, but what emenated from her mouth was, to say the least, STRANGE. It wasn't that she was off-key, or tone deaf, or anything so mundane, it was just that she was so...DIFFERENT. She made several albums, one of which, "Mrs. Miller's biggest Hits" had her covers of a number of the hits of the day. Her biggest hit was a cover of "Downtown"-Pet Clark, watch yer backside, baby !

I remember her. I think she frequented the Tonight show.

Mrs. Miller was meant to sound bad, due to the style they had her singing. If my memory serves me right, she was trained as an opera singer.

And of course, if you have to bring up Mrs. Miller, then Tiny Tim must follow!

Both brought to you courtesy of the Tonight Show!

Yoko and Linda.

Spoken like a true purist :D

There are times when I think that Neil Young's voice is just plain awful...sometimes it's just wonderful. I guess it's about the music and the words.

Time for some Buffalo Springfield!

Hi,

Tammy Faye Bakker gets the nod. She really needed Auto-Tune big time. She sang one correct note out of twenty. Mrs. Miller can peel wallpaper.

...Mrs. Miller could WHISTLE, too...She would put a piece of ice in her mouth before letting fly, and her whistling was kinda like her singing-Different. I think the poor woman had Parkinson's Disease, which makes the victim have a distinctive cadence to their voice. My granmother had it, & she & Mrs Miller sounded a lot alike. My granny NEVER tried singing, though...
