X-202 Built Date

Register to hide this ad
Several of my Fisher receivers have the date written in grease pencil on the back of the face plate. The one on my bench right now is serial 20xxx and in grease pencil 1962 and some other marks.

A lot of the parts will have date codes. For example, if you see "6322" on a capacitor, it would mean week 22 of 1963. Some tubes have similar date codes but others, especially RCA, will have 2 letters. You can Google the RCA codes but may not find all of them.

Since the parts would have to be made before the amplifier, that sets the early limit. The unit was probably built within the same or the following year.
