I ve been offered a Yamaha AS 2200 for 2500 eur (resealed)
Currently I have C4+M4 and another C4+M65..
So old Vs new...how does the new Yamaha s in special the AS 2200 will compare to the c4m4 in terms of sound quality?

I haven't auditioned an AS series but I hear they are very good. It may come down to vintage vs modern. For sure, the C-4 pre is a vinyl lovers dream, with multiple cartridge inputs and loading. Personally, I love the M-4 amp. So easy to work on and tons of headroom. Does the AS-2200 even have a phono input? Sadly, few modern amps have this.

My Suggestion would be to find a properly restored Yamaha B-2 to go with the C-4 if you were willing to spend 2500 euro .

The B-2 is something special when fully restored by someone who understands V-Fet amplifiers.

Really? I actually read that a few people had problems with them after 3 years of moderate using...so reliability in long time doesn't t look good
Three AS- # have popped up here in the last month or two in protection. Too new to fail IMO. Schematic is a real challenge, SMD components on 2 sided boards, bugger to work on etc.

Yamaha offers 2+3 years warranty if you register the product....I have one review saying that after 30 min of playing starts making poping noises in the speakers.he went to an Yamaha service, they changed some relays but the problem wasn't solved...doesn't t look good after you pay 2.5 - 3k euro for a product.i don t see how they will hold up 30 40 years like my other vintage Yamaha
