Hook an interconnect cable from Left pre-out to Right main - in as well as Right pre-out to left main-in -- Then flip the coupler swicth to the decouple position ( OFF )... Does the problem change channels ?

Yes. The problem change. Right channel gets lower than right.

CAUTION - For everyone who can see this and that are going to clean the horizontal slider sitches (like balance, bass, treble, etc.) there is a small metal sphere that stops the slider in place that needs to be very carefully removed, otherwise you will spen A LOT of time searching for it. (I may know someone who did ).

Right. What shoud I check there? Is the pre-amp the equalizer amp?

When in reverse or Mono sound in left channel equals the right channel.

If this is still the case then both mono and reverse switches are probably dirty.

Using a multimeter, select AUX1 input, insert one probe into female/inner of left AUX1 RCA connector at rear. Connect other
probe to left channel (white wire) on mode circuit board, measure resistance, amp powered off. Repeat for right AUX1 RCA
female and right channel (red wire) on mode board. You might get lucky...

I have disassembled the switches and let them crystal clear. No way is dirty switches. Any other ideas?

I've done the Ohm tests.
The values are: 1K Ohm Right and 0.991K Ohm Left.

We really need and o'scope and signal gen. for signal tracing through the EQ amp ..

No. Not to TAPE. (Not disassemble them, just sprayed.)
I did MODE, FUNCTION, LOUDNESS, BALANCE, BASS, TREBLE and TURNOVER.

i find tape monitor switches to be the worst ones because they rarely get used and when they do get used the crud inside goes everywhere . try working it slowly with music playing and see if it changes anything .

1K Ohm and 0,991K Ohm is within the specs?

Plz confirm that the red/pink and white wires you measured were in a white plastic wrap. Looks like you measured
wires in blue wrap.
