BIN price is unbelievable for a 170 wpc receiver.

These are pretty rare - only a few come up for sale on eBay annually. There have been a couple of trashed ones, but the most recent sale I can think of for a good specimen was around $1.5K. So perhaps that BIN price isn't that off after all?

And as a comp, what are Marantz 2385s selling for these days, anyways? Must be somewhere north of $1.0K, right?

If it was on the east coast, I might consider it...uh...but it's STILL pricey, but it looks quite nice from the photos.

After having a CR-3020 for almost a year now, I would definitely say that the Big Yamaha is worth every penny of his BIN price.
If I did not have a CR-3020, and know what I know now about them, I would not hesitate to pull the trigger at 15 bills.
I would even drive down from the Bay Area to pick the sucker up!

Sure looks mint. And it was supposedly just serviced (would be nice to know if FM was properly aligned). Good seller, satisfaction guarantee. Seems like a smart seller... I bet someone grabs at 1500 in this condition.. and he gave himself 10 days to collect offers in case they don't.

For $1500 don't you think you could build a Yamaha seperate system that would sound better? A B-2, M-2, or M-80 can all be picked up for under $500.

What you paid for your's is much more in line with what it's worth.

If I had not just purchased a new car, I would buy it for $1500. I already have one too, it has a really smooth sound. It really sounds exceptional with my Infinities and NS-1000's.

Yes you could put together a killer separates system but you will never get the looks of the CR-3020.

I think BarrynSue sold the last one on the Bay and it went for 810.00 if memory serves. which is certainly more reasonable and I wish folks would quit saying "well its worth every penny" and stuff like that. ( I notice its the folks who already have one too). I mean these peope read this forum and it behooves all of us to not inflate the market unnecessarily. my .02
