The two beefy transformers are connected in parallel to cancel their respective leakage flux and the two big 18,000µF Nichicon caps are bypassed with two 2,2µF metallized mylar film caps.

This is my first Yamaha integrated so I don't know. I mainly use separates. M-80,M-85, MX-1, MX-1000 has dual xfmr's.

I very seldom remove more than one part at a time because I can get confused about which one went where, especially if I have taken a break from the project.
I also make a complete photo survey of the entire unit before starting. That helps a lot when I get confused about what went where.

What do you guys clean the component side of the ckt boards with? I've been using 90% isopropyl alcohol with a paint brush. I'm still shy about board disassembly unless it's a real mess. As a hobbyist mechanic, I can find wiggle room in any tight spot. I figure the unit is gonna get dusty again anyway. :blah:

I should probably use alcohol but hate to waste good sipping whiskey so I use acetone.

I use 99% IPA, a spray bottle, and a paintbrush. I shared where I got my method on a post in my KA-3500 thread:

No hum at all, actually. I was surprised by that because before I fixed it, there was definitely a slight hum. Now there's nothing. Very odd

Good to hear. Probably from all the good board cleaning & solder touch ups. I 've been toying with a solder the fuse theory. Thanks for the feedback bud.
