Awesome in it's simplicity. The Hollandaise adds class and elegance.

For me a culinary trained relative is hosting his annual dinner. It includes things like goat cheese dip, handmade ravioli, roasted lamb... espresso drinks.

Cheers all!

We tried a Turducken Breast this year along with sweet potato's and baby peas with pearl onions and mushrooms. This was my first experience with Turducken and will not be the last.

Sounds like you're in for a great treat HH...

Yep. We compare his classical training with my on-the-job experience. I look like a hack most of the time!

Anyway... I'm getting tenderloins for $3.99 lb lately. I always do medallions but I think I'll try your menu next. Turn the baked into double-baked potatoes and you have most of my favorites covered.

Happy Holidays all!

Oven roasted baby piglet & two legs of lamb, oven potatoes in olive oil lemon & oregano, baked pasta with meat sauce covered with beshamel, smoked salmon, caviar on a bed of whipped hard-boiled eggs sprinkled with fresh challots, spinach quiche. Various appetizers and deserts.

Expecting around 25-30 family and friends.

Live music as well....friends are bringing instruments (acoustic but then again you never know) :)

Time to reflect as to how lucky we are and to give a prayer for those less fortunate.

Merry Christmas!

The tenderloin will be on a rack, then under it in bacon grease will be garlic and mushrooms to impart some flavor..

I thought about stuffed, but I just didn't feel like working that hard..

Chicken cutlets
Green bean casserole
Oyster dressing
Truffled mashed potato's
Chardonnay
MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....yes!

WOW.. they don't call you the nines for nothing do they.. Sounds like a hell of a feast, and a great time with family...

 That sounds fantastic!

I'm having some honey ham, mashed spuds, and real cranberry sauce. Yeah, I know it's not Thanksgiving, but that sauce is delicious! :D

Oh yeah.. forgot we're having cranberry sauce too... just gotta... and not sure which wine yet, but I did get some port for desert to go with the chocolate cake..

Today I will not cook!!!
My daughter and I will go out to eat at our traditional place (5th year running) "Szechuan" a wonderful spicy Chinese restaurant (and yes its open on Xmas)
We will have:

Steamed carrots with an OJ, butter and ginger glaze
Fresh green salad with Gorgonzola, walnuts, dried cranberries and raspberry vinaigrette.

Bread pudding with rum sauce for dessert.

For the last couple of years, it's been Venison Sauerbraten with spaetzle. We've been eating lots of venison lately and wanted a change of pace.

Beef tenderloin
King crab legs
spicy potato casserole
garlic bread
green beans
and a large helping of Moet Chandon. :D

This is happening at good friends home, the menu is what my parents used to serve when we were kids. It reminds me how much I miss both of them.

Happy Holidaze everyone!
