Kegger altered the crossover. Installing a Zobel might change the phase sufficiently; the only way to know for sure is to measure....
"Little Red" E-wave update...
Cabinets built and painted tile red. 8.9 cubic feet... 49 1/2" tall, 20 7/8" wide, 18" deep. Aka, LARGE.
Still need to add damping material (line with fiberglass) and put the ports (two 4" diameter per box) in. Should get that done this weekend.
Will start building crossovers as soon as I find the last components (short one 1.5mH coil right now
)...

I would think the relative position of the driver radiating surfaces makes a difference on how they blend. Swapping the polarity may help or hinder blending but having the drivers in effective correct absolute polarity would be the ideal, adjusting the xover and driver's relative planar positioning to compensate. Correct absolute polarity is when an acoustic 'push' into the mic results in an acoustic 'push' out of all the drivers.
BTW, has anyone done extensive FFT analysis setting up their EWs?

It's important to always have the woofers wired to correct polarity if they are to be used with other enclosures at times - ie, all enclosures have forward woofer motion at the same time.
But the highpass driver of each enclosure just needs to be wired so that it best sums with its own woofer at and around the crossover frequency. Placement of driver elements on the baffle should have already been optimised for lobes and nulls anyway...

My version of Keggers hpm's sound so good there are no words to describe.
My dad is has been an audiophile since the early 60's and was shocked
when he heard my system. He has totl Mcintosh seperates and ads 980's
and said I would have to spend huge $ to even equal the sound I have.
The hpm's were free and I have a 250.00 refurbished Marantz 2250b and
a 10.00 playstation 1 for a cd player.I spent maybe 250.00 building my ewaves. Two other audio friends listened and gave it a 2 thumbs up and
one vette1220 just built a set using the dayton 12" classics.

Hey, quit telling people about the Playstation until I've accumulated a lifetime supply of them. I only have a half dozen now and I need a few more to do experiments on.
I was thinking of an ideal low budget demo system for AKFEST:
* Ewave PH612/D220Ti top end
* HPM or LE14 bottom
* Ewave crossover
* Gainclone chip amp
* Playstation I player.
* Passive volume pot.
I'd pile all of it on milk crates for an authentic LoFi look.
People would sneer at how it looked but I know how great it would sound together.

Yeah I have been thinking of something similiar.My sonic impact t-amp sure
does sound terrific for the price and size.I use some mimus 7 radio shack
speakers with it for my tailgate system.I was thinking about a 4-6 ohm
e-wave package with about a 6-8" woofer but its over my head to develop
a crossover.The mimus 7's are sweet but they use up most of that t-amp
and bass is a little shy.

I think I'm finally getting back to normal, not normal for a normal person but keg normal.
Just got done unpacking cars "thanks Andy" an stuffing/shuvving/hiding gear everywhere.

Zilch and Jack, the waves came through with flying colors, was the best my system
has sounded and the way they performed with my other gear at all the other fests I
have done, could not have been even a smidgen more happy with the results I got in
my room at the fest this year, truly top notch, these baby's work, congrats...:thmbsp:

I second what Keg said. Whell had my ESS Ewaves at the fest and they sounded damn fine. He still needs an Lpad to tone the horn down, but even still they sounded great.

Kegger and Dennis, Thanks for taking them to the Fest and allowing everyone who attended a chance to hear them This project has been as much fun for Zilch and myself as it has for any other participant.

Hello, This is my first post on the forum although I've been lurking for some time.
Not sure this belongs in this thread, but here goes. I have read a lot about the e-wave but have not heard one, nor have I ever owned a speaker that could be considered high efficiency or one that used a horn. That said, I'm very excited to try out a twist on the proposed design.
My plan is to build an MTM dipole using the D220ti w/JBL wave guide along with two Eminence Delta-10A mid-woofers. This combination should be good down to 80Hz and will sit atop a set of W-frame Linkwitz style dipole woofers that are good down to around 20Hz (already built).
I've modeled the crossover based on some rough calculations and curve tracing of manufacturer FR and Z response curves. Attached is an on-axis model of the FR curve without any baffle step or dipole correction, which is to be determined after I build the test mule and take some actual measurements.
Anybody have thoughts how this kluge might sound? Short of that, anyone familiar with the Eminence Delta-10A? :headscrat
