Jack tested the D210Ti with the E'Wave crossover earlier in this thread and found it acceptible:

The Selenium throat adapter accommodates both 2- and 3-bolt mounting.
Y'all KNOW 806A does not have the HF extension of the Seleniums, and the compensation required to get it to do even its limited response is different from E'Wave....

If I'm going to order today I should figure out what inductors I need and order those at the same time. Is there an existing crossover in this thread that's suitable for the 210 and the LE10A? I've printed out and saved so many crossovers from this thread I'm not sure what's what any more.
Read again where Jack built with LE10H; he may have told us there.
The HF filter for both D210Ti and D220Ti is the same, but depends upon woofer sensitivity....

I'm honestly not certain if I would notice the difference between the 210 and 220 with my ring and ding ding ears :lmao:

The Large Advent's are considered "keepers" by lots of forum members. I would love to see if the EconoWave top end wouldn't improve their sound. Bet it will!!

We got both adaptors so lot's of experimenting to commence!

Preliminary Advent E'Wave lowpass, from my notes:
1) Standard 1.5 mH + 12 uF works, but has a bump ~1 kHz.
2) I lowered the Q with 2.5 mH + 8.2 uF.

I like everything about the Large Advent except the tweeter. I think there's 2 or 3 pairs around here to experiment with as well.
I'd also like to try the Altec Boleros (890b with 406z) with the EWG. I'm sure they will benefit from a lower crossover point.

BTW, I just spoke to someone here in MI who has a pair of Advent Utility cabs, a pair of Powered Advent cabs and a variety of Advent woofers. If anyone in the Detroit area is looking for material to do an Advent EWG conversion, PM me.

BTW again. I just measured the EWG against a New Large Advent speaker and the flange is about .250" too wide to fit. This doesn't mean you can't do it. You would have to trim the flange and drill new mounting holes on the short sides. Not much of a compromise. I'll bet it would work really well, too.
Andyman, if you read this would you measure the front baffle width on a Utility Large Advent cabinet? I'm almost certain there's more than enough space for an EWG because the front rim is so much narrower.

The 8" square waveguide is probably the one Zilch used in the pics just above showing a modified Large Advent. I think Zilch has checked out this waveguide pretty thoroughly and it has frequency response low enough to be usable in the EconoWave scheme. I plan to build the rear speakers for my home theater using the 8" waveguide, and the 6" square one will be used in the center speaker, although Zilch hasn't measured its frequency response yet.
You may already have the waveguides for your project, which will mean cutting as you detailed. If not, the JBL 8" seems to be the answer for you.
Before cutting anything, run the E'Wave just sitting on top, woofer up to minimize the center distance, and determine/decide if you like the sound of the system.
If you want to use the 12" wide waveguide, undercut a groove (recess) on each side wide and deep enough to accept the flange, 1/8" on one side, and 1/4" on the other, so it will slide neatly in.... :yes:

No tape measure at hand in my storage unit, but when I fit the WaveGuide into the Utility Cabinet there's about 1/4" of clearance on each side between the cabinet edge; it fits fine.
That's great news as we can now hack up these lesser cabs rather than the nice walnut ones if we like the sound of the EWG laying on top.

JBL L-26 Cabs Now Converted For Econowave-Smokin' Thang
Well here is my contribution to the E-Wave efforts at hand. Putting them into some soon to be re-braced L-26 donor cabs with a pair of JBL 2418H (Eon Drivers). Might go with a pair of Solenium 2010's when they get here.
The woofers planned are 10" cast frames with a 2.5" flat wire vc capable of 94db and an expected low end of 40hz! I'll see when they get here 'bout dat!
Kind of wanted these to fall in between "hot" home and possible light duty pro use. Will have golden finished oak wood cabs, etc. Will measure up the drivers and see where the xover will fall, am guessing the predictable 1.5k to 1.8k area. I think the size vs responce should blow people away into the next cattle barn! Sleepers....ya that's the ticket!
I am looking for bigger cabs to do this same thing with a pair of possible LE 14's- coming in later on.
