Here are my latest attempts at the Bottlehead meet at my place. They were received very well and are the best sounding speakers i have done to date.

I prefer 12" and 15" midwoofers with 90x40 horns, myself. Anything smaller than that tends to have a pattern that's too wide and there's a big midrange bulge off-axis. That's exactly what you want to avoid with this kind of design.

I removed the front grills which seem to be some sort of plastic latticeas they were loose and would have buzzed while playing. The new baffles are 1" mdf and are floating between 2 gasketed surfaces. I used mounting blocks from behind and pulled the baffle into place with clamps to get it tight. I also added a 2 by 4 brace in each using your simpson idea. The interior walls are covered with polyfill batting from wallmart and the ports are the precision ports with the large flare. Interior volume appears to be 4.75 cu ft.
Thanks for the project it has been great fun. I`m now embarking on a 3rd set for the upcoming 6v6 amp competition which will require greater efficiency than the Le14s can deliver. I am looking at the Eminence Kappalite 3012 or 3015 range for my woofers and the QSC waveguide with the B&C DE250 drivers. I`ll lose a little bass but the efficiency will be right up there.

I am having trouble finding donor cabs, and have small room placement issues, so am contemplating building the slimmest possible cabinets for my econowave project.
I'm a DIY speaker novice, but have been studying "standard" DIY designs and know they are affected by baffle width changes, and use BSC to deal with boundary/placement issues (generalizations for the sake of brevity). How critical is baffle width on the e'wave, and are they as affected by boundary placement as standard speakers (the layman in me says no due to the CD aspect)?
I am thinking Dayton 10" DC250-8 Classic woofer in a ~2cuft vented box, 11.5"-12.0" wide with 3/4" roundovers on both edges. Seperate waveguide/driver assembly to be placed on top of the woofer box. Woofer will be mounted as high as possible to minimize compression driver/woofer center distance.

It is generic, and you may wish to adjust the component values to optimize for your cabinet design and placement. That clears up a few things for me. I'm afraid at this point understanding and redesigning crossovers is beyond my ability. From the many satisfied e'wavers here, with wildly varying baffle widths and placement, it seems the standard xover covers most situations very well.You've got it figured well. Anybody on the fence about ewave, PE just dropped the price of admission for decent woofers.
