Zilch's AK Design Collaborative - Econowave Speaker

Here ya go

Perfect! :thmbsp:

The point I was trying to make is that it was used in a 2 way. 250Ti is not. Not to take anything from the LE14 drivers All JBL drivers were used in something, after all.:D

My comment was regarding the comment you quoted from simi earlier. :thmbsp:

Will this thread hit 10,000 post today or tomorrow? Maybe we need to take date and time guesstimates.

the NLA Ewaves I just built were for an artist. He sketched up this logo for them. He's going to make badges out of sterling wire for his grilles.

Oh heck yes, Ron. I really like the 2226 with a good 2". However, my next step, beyond trying LE85s on QSC is to purchase some Lambda woofers.. Every single bit of info I hear about those guys is positive. :thmbsp:

I am sure you will, but please, please post your thoughts as you progress.

Will do. I started to place an order for components needed for a modified 4Pi, Mr. Shumacher's 5- part x-over and caps/misc for a pair of Wharfedale W90d's. After looking at the total () I decided to think on it over the weekend which one (or two) I want to do first and order accordingly.

I haven't bought inductors in quantity for a while and had forgotten how quickly the dollars can add up :D

It's a little hard to read, especially if you don't know what it says already.

Well, it's Artistic, so I guess it's not supposed to be clear.
I haven't touched a speaker in days, except to sell a pair of odd '60s Wharfedales made in Kowloon today. I've been primarily working on amps, which are (usually) easier to lift. A tube amp under development for another magazine article, and this hulk of a SAE 2400L that's finally made its way from completely blown up to working today.

I'm still listening to my heavily bastardized DQ-10Waves, with Advent woofers, Ewave Original XO, D220TIs and now the little 6" X 6" 90 X 90 JBL WGs. I actually like this better than the DE250/QSC rig so I've taken that apart.

I really really like the way this sounds. I'm kinda looking for the right application for these little 6" JBLs and Advent woofers to get full range reproduction. The DQ's leave a little bit of the bottom octaves off.

I chose the KappaLite 3012LF over the less expensive DeltaLite II 2512 so that I could bump the bass with assist. I've been listening to them without that this past week and concluding they'd be fine without, even in their "too small" KDT trapezoid cabs.

Of note: the 3012LF and 2512 both have the same 37 Hz Fs; 2512 is 4.4 dB more efficient at 99.9 dB, according to spec.

The 10" DeltaLite II 2510s in OLA cabs are HT project prototypes for another forum....

I see. In your post 9933 in your quote I called the JBL famous 2 way "2235H"
have since edited to "4430" which might have made it clear, oh well, my bad.

re discount on Kappalite 3012

To whom it may concern; the 2 Kappalite 3012LF I ordered from speakerhardware.com came to about $317 including 15$ for Fedex They are in Kansas, shipping was to Idaho. The HO are same price. To get discount you have to go through order process.

This may help people decide on woofers.

Cheers

Zilch, just wanted to know - I see the original standard ewave LF - 1.5mh with 12uf cap and HF- 0.6mh with 4.7uf cap crossover has changed.
Is there a bigger improvement using the new values LF - 4mh with 10uf Cap and HF - 0.8mh with 3.3uf cap?
or Is it because of the Dayton DC300-8 woofer been used?
and can these new values be used with the JBL LE14H, JBL 2226 or Lambda 12s?

Zilch, just wanted to know - I see the original standard ewave LF - 1.5mh with 12uf cap and HF- 0.6mh with 4.7uf cap crossover has changed.
That crossover is optimized for a particular driver combination in a specific cabinet and should not be generalized to any others.

It's the optimization PROCESS I am illustrating there, which may be applied to them; the result is merely an artifact....

Hey Z, I'm preparing to build new 3cuft cabinets for my DC300/Pyle/220ti setup and I'm using your xo for that combo in the KDtrap cabs. I've been using Winisd to model the cabs and port tuning to 25Hz. Will I need to change the xo values as well??? I was under the impression that changing box size and port tuning would only effect the low end of the woofer and not effect the crossover. These sound great but could go a bit lower and new larger cabs will keep the wg at listening level.
