Well, I am an actual professional at this sort of thing, but it's a bit complicated. I can make them through my workplace and would be happy to provide at a no-profit cost, but if they are to be numbered, I think there might be other members that could make them at a lower cost than me. There are also endless ways to manufacture them, which of course affects the cost. It might be best sorted out in a dedicated thread.
 
Would EWW be a good set as L/R for a 5.1 system? IF so what would be the best center to match up with it? I figure I would use indignias as my surrounds.
 
I think they're ideal actually because it enables my home theater to double as a 2.0 stereo rig during the day. :thmbsp: I'm currently running my D123 eWave bass bins as L/R in my 5.1 with Zilch modded Minimus 7's (aka Zilchimus 7's) on the rear channel due to limited space. My initial plan had been Indignia rears but they just wouldn't fit!

Regarding a center channel, that is one question I have been debating for a while. It makes sense that Econowave's controlled directivity would be a slam dunk in this particular application but I haven't gotten around to building it yet. :sigh: I'll replace my cone and dome center with one of the Wired Advents that I built in the video and report back tomorrow evening.

Yah I saw that and it looked pretty sweet, I know it says Klipsch buyouts and Vifas but Im gonna be honest, don't know what the Klipsch buyouts are. They look very similar to this: http://www.parts-express.com/projectshowcase/indexn.cfm?project=AviaTrix

EDIT: Are they gonna be overkill for a room thats about 10x12, although its also open essentially to my entire house.

since you have an LCD TV (posted in the other thread), if you want to do the e-wave, I'd build 3 ewaves, and use the center one as a TV stand, and come up with something for the rears, either build your own or pick up some used smaller speakers (polks, mini advents, minimus 7, small infinities, AR's, etc, etc)

Just watch the horn heights. They sound better if they are close to the same height across the front. You could always invert a cabinet as well and drop it on top if it gets you better alignment of the horns.

Is anyone running with this? If not I will be happy to have them made. I have a little cash that I can put into this and have say 50 or so made up. What should the size be? Anyone know the color code for JBL orange? If someone has a real JBL badge I think Home Depot or Lowes can scan it and produce a color code. I am going to get a quote for an inch and a half square right now.

- Don't get a quote. Like I said, I would provide them at cost, and I can do plastic, metal, rubber, epoxied, inked, engraved, etc., etc., and I think other members can do the same. I am hesitant to run with it on my own, partly because I don't want to put much cash into something that isn't wanted, and partly because I don't want to step on anyone's toes here. I could start a thread with sizes/materials/prices for people to compare?

- It would be much easier to run with it without numbering. I'm concerned that people really really want numbering, though.

- I believe Pantone 172C is the current JBL orange. Based on comments on this thread I would want to investigate to see if there's others they have used in the past, though.

Not a ton but some. I think the individual numbers are a big deal. I also don't want to step on anyone's toes but would just like to provide this service at my cost to those that would like to have a nice set of badges for their speakers - I want a pair for myself and was already in the process of having a few made for me and Zilch anyway. The badges that I am proposing would be brass or aluminum painted JBL orange and then engraved (with the cool i in Zilchlab)

You and I (and other subscribers) could sort out some details, finish up the design, and get something made. We can come back to this thread for feedback of course, I just want to be able to talk more pricing/logistics than should be happening in this thread. I'm off for tonight, but I could do some stuff for this tomorrow.

I am crazy busy on Friday (I am moving my business right now.) but I can relax all weekend and I will start a new thread this weekend. Nice to have more peeps on this anyway.

It would be great to have some badges for sure.

There was a logo in this thread by member von.ah and it looked like the econoline from an old Ford van. it was pretty cool as well.

I can not seem to find it tho.:scratch2:
 
Hello, I'm a newbie here, but i have tried to build and ewave of sorts with locally available (Manila,Philippines) driver and surprisingly they did sound good. Now i would like to try the Selenium but they are not available here, instead there is PAudio available. What model could be a possible candidate otherwise using PAudio drivers,if any? Thanks
